It's no secret millennials want updated and turnkey homes but a a variety of financial, emotional & social considerations make aging in place attractive and renovating to sell hard and possibly not worth the investment for older adults.

While 2023 was filled with challenges and losses it was also a year of growth and laying the foundation for an amazing 2024.

Here are some of my highlights.

🎆 Joined an amazing real estate team that is allowing me to provide better service to my clients and handle more business
🎆 Closed more transactions compared to 2023 and I had a better work life balance
🎆 Over 1/2 of my closed volume was from referrals and past clients
🎆I listed and sold my first lake home. (I have helped people buy lake property but this was the first time I was on the listing side)
🎆Referred clients to great agents in Texas, Longville and Duluth. It is fun to see them get vacation and investment homes and partner with great agents.
🎆Presented at my first Downsizing seminar and will continue to expand these piece of my business in 2024
🎆Attended my first out of state real estate conference and I am fully committed to not only growing by business in 2024 but also providing education and high level service to everyone I am lucky enough to help

On the personal side:

🎆bought a boat and spend many amazing weekends on the water with family and friends
🎆got in many trips including a girls getaway with my mom, a spring break trip w/family, a few weekends away with my hubby and friends, and a few snowmobile and camping trips with some of our favorite family friends
🎆new flooring in my basement
🎆Christmas in Florida
🎆Lizze graduated college
🎆Josie started HS

In 2024 I plan to continue to expand and grow my real estate business, take as many trips as last year, spend as much time outside as I possibly can, update my downstairs bathroom and finish renovating my home office, lose a few lbs by focusing on my nutrition and exercise that serves my body. This year, we have the privilege of helping an incredibly deserving family.  Our recipient is a veteran who served our country and local community for over 20 years.  Sadly, he was in a horrible accident this summer and has been fighting for his life ever since.  He faces a tough road ahead and has had countless surgeries over the last few months, with more likely to come.  He is a single father, so this means his young adult daughter has had to help make tough medical decisions and help care for two younger siblings.  With many uncertainties before them, they could use our help to bring some much needed you this year.

We love statistics, especially when it's a real estate market update. Here's what you should know about the latest numbers from July:

If you're selling a home: We are still seeing multiple offers, but there are also more price reductions on homes. They have more showings and are taking a little longer to sell. The value of homes is still increasing at around 3% per year.

If you're buying: The inventory storage continues, but NOW is the time to start. And, if you plan to have a mortgage, get it locked in NOW. The shortage of houses and movement of mortgage rates isn't going to stop for the foreseeable future, and home prices are continuing to rise.
