I've been in BAMH when it first started back in Fall of 2019 🧠💗

BAMH has always attracted good folks to the club who believe in doing great things for College and this Community 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦💗

I am a Star Wars fan. I've always loved Star Wars since I was a kid ✨🌒

I am a first-year tenure-track psychology instructor at EPCC. I've been with the college for 7 years🧠📚

I started BAMH because one of my students was struggling with suicidal ideations. Actually, my whole Psych of Adjustment class was struggling at the time. We started impromptu support groups and were informally meeting after class. It blossomed into a student club and the students came up with the name BAMH (bringing awareness to mental health)🤍

For club member Tuesday and Thursday , we have one of our Advisors , Tony Nelson! ✨

I became an advisor for BAMH after learning of its existence, because of my firm belief that mental health and physical health are inseparable. I believe that removing any stigma from mental health is an achievable goal and a highly desirable one 👨🏼‍💼

I felt sponsoring a student club whose dedication to removing said stigma was the best way that I could get that message out at EPCC🧠💗

What's my fun fact? I play tabletop role-playing games. I'm into astronomy and and am addicted to horror movies!✨🌕🔪🩸

School can be tough BUT you ARE tougher. We are in the middle of the semester and are almost done! This is the time to start taking care of yourself especially since midterms and exams are coming up. Remember, you got this ! 🤍

Here is a list of self care that you can use:

•get plenty of rest
•take 20 minute brain breaks in between study and homework time
•drink plenty of water
•try going on homework/study dates with friends instead
• listen to music
•MOST IMPORTANTLY, take your time! Your mental health should always be prioritize before school. With a healthy mindset, you will set yourself for success🧠💗
