Great article. It's okay to not be okay, and it can be painful to see. People see themselves out. And fortunately, most people are trauma-informed enough at this point to understand how hurtful this behavior can be and will be a good friend.

I Won’t Be Friends With People Who Support My Abuser, And That’s Okay Break-ups are never easy: the tears, the heartbreak, the loneliness that follows. Every romantic comedy has taught me that as long as I…

Ma*****na Is Not the Solution for PTSD

"There have been an increasing number of studies demonstrating that the use of ma*****na can worsen PTSD over time. An observational studyopens in a new tab or window assessed 2,276 veterans treated in VA PTSD treatment programs at the time of intake and then again 4 months after discharge. They found that those who had been using ma*****na prior to the program but stopped had the lowest level of PTSD symptoms 4 months post-discharge, and second lowest were those who never used ma*****na. Those who started using ma*****na again after the treatment program had the highest levels of violent behavior, alcohol use, and PTSD symptoms."

Kill Bill: Volume 2: Punching a hole through her grave 03/20/2023

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnslLsBjILQ

More Aries ingress/first day of Spring feels. I use this scene from Kill Bill 2 to describe to my patients how the energy of the Wood element and Spring can feel. We move from Winter and Water and the emotion of Fear to Spring and Wood (growth) and the emotion of anger. Spring often brings about a big burst of energy that brings uncomfortable changes. It's the same energy that gives plants the ability to burst through the frozen ground and return back to life.

Vitamin D exposure and Risk of Breast Cancer: a meta-analysis - Scientific Reports 11/23/2022

https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-018-27297-1

Throughout the years, I have posted a lot on vitamin D3 supplementation for a variety of reasons. In 2020 and 2021, I posted about D3 supplementation and Covid, and recommended to my patients to take 5-10K per day with vitamin K2 and was happy to see no one coming through my office reported testing positive for covid during those years, until the very end of 2021 with Omicron. And I wonder, even then, if we had all been as rigorous as we had been in the beginning, if we could have prevented that, too.

I'm back to telling everyone in my clinic to supplement 5-10 k per day and ask their doctor to test them regularly.

Here is an article about D3 deficiency and breast cancer. This study indicates that D3 supplementation can also support breast tissue health. More studies need to be done but what little is reported is a strong indication to supplement.

Vitamin D exposure and Risk of Breast Cancer: a meta-analysis - Scientific Reports The relationship between vitamin D and breast cancer is still controversial. The present meta-analysis examines the effects of the 25(OH)D, 1,25(OH)2D and vitamin D intake on breast cancer risk. For this purpose, a PubMed, Scopus and Web of Science-databases search was conducted including all papers...

Evidence shows that acupuncture is underutilized.

📣 Acupuncture: How to improve the evidence base.
🙌 Thank you all that have shared and posted about this collection of articles just published by the BMJ 🤩
(Bobbee Vang - great to catch up and thanks for always contributing to EBA) 🤝

Here is the link to the full collection of articles:

From the BMJ:
"Given the broad clinical application and rapid increase in funding support for acupuncture research, researchers now have additional opportunities to produce high-quality studies. However, for this to be successful, acupuncture research must address both methodological limitations and unique research challenges."

"This collection of articles analyses the progress of developing high quality research studies on acupuncture, summarises the current status, and provides critical methodological guidance regarding the production of clinical evidence on randomised controlled trials, clinical practice guidelines and health economic evidence. It also assesses the number and quality of systematic reviews of acupuncture. We hope that these articles will help inform the development of clinical practice guidelines, health policy, and reimbursement decisions."

I asked if I could post this because this is a great example of why consistent acupuncture is so helpful and effective.

My book, Walking on Pins and Needles: A Memoir of Chronic Resilience in the Face of Multiple Sclerosis, is NOW AVAILABLE for pre-orders (e-book version).

I want to inspire people to think about new directions and muster courage to face their fears about the unknown, to take a step, no matter how small, and to show up.

When you learn that letting go is more important than trying harder, you’ll be freed to move forward in unexpected ways. Tai Chi has helped me understand this, and I hope my book will help readers to clear their minds and discover new, powerful ideas to live in the moment and uncover new possibilities.

You can pre-order the Kindle e-book here:

The Integrative Fertility and Reproductive Medicine Mentorship Program – HealthySeminars Mentorship Program 02/06/2022

I wrote this to my work community today. Very excited about this and enjoying the first class so much!

Good morning, esteemed colleagues and community,

I want to share that today I am beginning a six-month integrative fertility and reproductive medicine mentorship with my colleague Laura Erlich. I usually work on Sundays, but once a month, I will switch my day to Saturday so I can take a day-long class associated with this program. Some of you saw me working yesterday.

As many of you know, one of my primary specialties is in fertility and prenatal support and I have been supporting women through this process since shortly after I was licensed. I began working in 2013 at Pulling Down the Moon, which is one of the first holistic fertility clinics in Chicago, and I received my primary training there and worked there (while I also worked at Heartwood) until last year. I'm very excited to begin this mentorship today!

Along with furthering my education and deepening my practice, I am also taking this course to prepare for the ABORM exam. This will earn me a fellowship in reproductive medicine. For more information, here is the link to the description: https://mentorship.healthyseminars.com/course/integrative-reproductive-medicine/

Thank you for reading. It's days like today that make me feel so happy that I chose the profession I'm in!

Warm regards, Lisa
