Anyone else familiar with this movie? š
If youāve been on social media or attended an exercise class lately, youāve probably heard this: āMake sure youāre drinking your electrolytes! Itās so important to replace those after exercise!ā
ā¦. And then you do it because some fitness āexpertā told you to.
And thatās ok!
But let me breakdown the whys and whatās and maybe whatnots of electrolyte consumption without trying to get you to rush to the store to purchase a product you MAY NOT really need.
Iāll be posting several things over the next week or so to help shed some light on this new sensational craze so you have the most information to determine if you really need that flavored salt water or not.

š Tips for Navigating The Grocery Store š
These arenāt novel ideas here, but only meant to help provide a little reminder before your next trip to the grocery store.
š Take inventory of what you already have!
Nothing is worse than getting to store and the idea of āDo I need more salt and pepper at home maybe?ā, so you buy it anyway just in case to only find out you already have two other containers of salt and one other container of pepper in addition to the open ones. Taking inventory is the best way to avoid over buying!
š„ Make a list & organize it by sections in the grocery store!
You know the layout of your frequently visited stores best. And you can plan out your trip to be the most efficient time wise (and attempt to side step impulse purchases) by organizing your grocery list by section and how you walk through the store.
š„¦ Stick to the perimeter of the store first!
This is just a nice little addendum to the previous tip. Things like fresh produce, meat, dairy, etc. can all be found on the outside edges of the store. Start there and then work your way into the aisles.
š„ Check product dates & grab from the back of the shelf!
Become familiar with the different date lingo products use and buy accordingly. If youāre going to be cooking steak 5 days after the purchase date, you probably donāt want to buy something that is going to be past the Best Buy date the next day. If you buy groceries for weeks at a time, this is crucial to ensure the longevity of the products youāre purchasing. And every grocery store organizes by the First In First Out rule. So products with further use by dates will be at the back!
š„© Look up, down, & all around!
Companies pay big money for product placement, and that is no different in the grocery store. Oftentimes the products placed at eye level on the shelves arenāt always going to be the best choice, just the best placed. So make sure youāre scanning the top and bottom shelves too for the best quality and price!
š Save money buying whole products!
Instead of buying the already cut produce or cooked meat, buy whole or raw. Anything that has been further prepared is always going to cost more!
If you need help creating your grocery store plan, whether itās putting together a weekly menu or organizing your grocery list, send me a message! Always taking new clients!

A Few Things to Note
š I adapted this recipe from the one listed on the box by I always use the Power Cakes mix for my baking recipes.
š The applesauce is what really keeps these muffins nice and moist (sorry, thereās just no better way to describe them). But you can switch that out with bananas or pumpkin to achieve the same thing!
š Baking times will vary depending on your ovenā¦. Especially if the heating element goes out in your oven while youāre mixing everything up š
š The mix already has chocolate bits in it, but if you want to add more chocolatey goodness, by all means do so!
Give these a try and let me know how you and/or your loved ones like them! š«¶š»

I love cooking!
And I love cooking for my clients! It keeps me on my toes, makes my brain work in different ways, and allows me to try out new skills.
But even the most basic meal prep still gets all the good vibes and love! How often do you think about the intention you put behind cooking your food? The energy and thoughts you put into your food prep can directly affect the energetic vibration of the food as well as how your body receives it.
Donāt believe me? Have you ever tried to repeatedly prep the boring ābodybuilderā diet? What is there to get excited about plain chicken and rice? Am I right?! And if you have done this, you probably didnāt stick with it long and werenāt excited to eat the food in general.
Next time, get excited about making your food! Put on some good tunes, dance around and sing, prepare your food with the intention of it fueling your body! Energy goes where intention flows, and that is no different for our food!
Give this a try and see if you can tell a difference in the food you make!

š„ Eating Seasonally For Your Health š„
How often do you think about the produce you buy being āin seasonā? Just like people and our moods, the produce we eat is also seasonal! Itās ok to admit if you donāt typically consider this. But here are 5 reasons why you should!
Realistically it isnāt entirely feasible to completely eat seasonally unless you only consume produce you grow yourself, especially if you live in a region with very moody seasons (like us here in the Midwest šµāš«). But incorporating a few seasonal fruits and veggies into your menu every week is a great way to take advantage of the health benefits associated with doing so!
What is your favorite season? And what is your favorite fruit or vegetable that is in season during that time?
If you need help incorporating more seasonal fruits and vegetables, contact me for a custom curated menu to include these!
Letās face itā¦.

Weāve heard it for years: Everything in moderation.
So where did we lose this ideology of moderation and root our health and wellness in the concept of restriction? Now, itās all about āstop eating thisā, ācut this out of your dietā, āonly eat this for so many daysā. And why?
While, yes, there is no argument that restriction does indeed translate into results. The question still remains: Are these results sustainable? How many times have you, personally, restricted yourself from something entirely? And, now, letās be real with ourselves for a second and note how long did that actually last?
My philosophy behind re-establishing your relationship with food is strongly embedded in the idea of moderation, not restriction. Weāre real humans. Most of us enjoy eating a wide variety of foods. So, instead of cutting out those foods, why not make it work for you? I always tell people interested in working with me, as an example, if you enjoy eating McDonaldās, Iām not going to tell you that it has to be completely cut out, just maybe get a small fry instead of a large next time. Making changes doesnāt has to be this grandiose thing. It can be as simple as that!
So, as you navigate the new year and changes you may want to make in your lifestyle, ask yourself what you can moderate to make those changes instead of what you can take away. See how long those results last for you!
Need assistance on moderation in your diet? Shoot me a message! Always open for new clients!
