Carousel of Light
This beautiful hand-carved carousel was created by Falmouth artist Lance Shinkle in the early 1990s. Joyous music fills the air as the horses go 'round.
A beloved fixture of Falmouth Village, the carousel has delighted local residents and visitors to Falmouth since 2013. One of the few remaining carousels of its kind in the United States, kids and adults alike flock to this Cape Cod institution every summer. Brightly colored hand-carved horses spin around the cheery red and white striped top. Take a ride on Patriot, Butterscotch or everyone's favorite, Pearl.
π Exciting Update from the Carousel of Light! π
We're thrilled to share that a new cement platform has been completed at the Mullen Hall School grounds, where the carousel has been delighting visitors for the past 10 seasons. This is a significant step in getting the carousel up and running for the season and will allow us to keep it temporarily installed for the next few years, eliminating the need to take it up and down every year.
A huge thank you to Tom Murtha for organizing and coordinating this process! With this crucial step completed, we anticipate the carousel opening in just a few weeks. We can't wait to welcome you all back to enjoy the magic and joy of the Carousel of Light.
Stay tuned for the official opening date, and thank you for your continued support and excitement!

The potential in the Carousel Of Light!!
We are so happy for Slater Park Looff Carousel! Congratulations!! It's a beautiful Carousel located in Pawtucket RI... near to where Miss Beth grew up in North Attleboro. Whenever she "goes home", unfortunately it's not open. Her dear friends live right down the street from it and bring their granddaughter to it often. She loves it!!

Beautiful Story Alert:
This past few weeks, a family had been bringing their daughter to the carousel almost every day. The last day of their vacation, they came and gave Miss Beth an envelope to give to Lance, the creator of the Carousel Of Light. Here are the pictures from that.... what a sweet card from that family! We were all choked up!!
Back in November of 2021, Kevin and Beth were at Disney, in line for Pirates Of The Carribean. This family yelled across the line: Do you live on Cape Cod? Beth said yes. They then asked: Do you live in Falmouth? Beth said yes. Then they asked: Are you the Carousel Lady? Beth said YES!!! So pictures were taken. They just came back to the Carousel and here they all are!! (Minus Kevin who's at Blast From The Past working, and minus one daughter from the family) How cool!!!
July 31st.... Miss Kathleen made an appearance today at the Carousel. We miss her here!! She worked many years with us!!!
Hey Everyone... This Is Miss Beth. I was coming back to the Carousel and was at the Library Lawn and saw a gentleman dancing to our music. It was Great!! I Love My Job!!
