F5 Project
F5 Project aims to disrupt the cycle of crime, addiction, and isolation through individualized care that fosters resilience and restores hope.
After his fifth felony, Adam Martin thought, βThere must be more to life than this.β That was the beginning of pursuing change in his own life. Because of his shared experiences, he became a resource for other individuals coming out of jail by providing personalized support to incarcerated individuals to deter repeat offenses. As his efforts grew, so did the need for a meaningful name. Working in

You know us for the work we do with justice-involved individuals and individuals struggling with addiction, but today we want to share a story about the work we do with individuals battling a mental illness.
An individual came to us with a dual diagnosis of Major Depressive Disorder and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Many times, anxiety disorders are accompanied with social anxiety, panic attacks, and agoraphobia (fear of leaving familiar environments or environments deemed βsafe,β which often leads to the inability to leave their house). While this individual has a mental health professional she is working with; she needed additional support between appointments. Through the 1915(i) program, we have been able to provide her with a Care Coordinator and that extra support she has needed to conquer her anxiety and make incredible progress.
Today was a BIG day for her! She has mentioned in past meetings with her Care Coordinator that she has a true love for animals. To support her progress, her Care Coordinator suggested they take a trip to the zoo. Not only would this provide an opportunity to practice anxiety management skills, but it also provided the added incentive of being around animals. With the encouragement and comfort of her Care Coordinator, she successfully completed a trip to the zoo today! Even fed the giraffes. π π¦
We are beyond proud of her bravery and humbled by her trust in us and the process!
Mental illness, especially agoraphobia, can shrink someoneβs world down to almost nothing. It can be incredibly isolating and full of sheer terror day in and day out. BUT, it doesnβt need to stay that way! There is hope and we are here to help.

Adam, our Founder + CEO, found this on his windshield and has a message for the anonymous author:
Dear Nobody,
You would never be a nobody in my eyes. Thank you for the kind letter you left on my truck while I ran into the store. As soon as a I saw it on my windshield, I checked my parking before I looked. To my surprise, you made me tear up rather than being angry.
Thank you.
We are humbled by everyone who has successfully completed our program, by those who are currently in our program, and by those who are in the middle of the struggle right now. We see you. We acknlowdge you. We support you. ππ»β€οΈ
This βNobodyβ is not a nobody at all. This βNobodyβ is the reason we continue to do what we do day in and day out. Thank you for leaving this note. You are a somebody to us and we have much love for you.

π Not one day goes by that F5 Project amongst the entire community is not grateful for the hard work of Law Enforcement, and the risk they take every day. Last year on this very day Fargo experienced tragedy. Today we are honoring the lives and strength of each beautiful face in this picture that was directly affected, and the dedication of the Fargo Police Department. Rest in Peace Officer Jake Wallin. You will never be forgotten. π

β¨ The first meal β¨
Who wants to share some words of encouragement this beautiful morning?!
To some, this is just breakfast on a plate. To this wonderful human it is much more than that.
Mornings like today are some of our favs at F5 Project. Train stations before the sun comes up, and a good meal together with somebody embarking on the next steps in their journey.
From day 1 we have had wonderful supporters in the community and people cheering for strangers theyβve never met. This work would not be possible without you all. Your love and support does not go unnoticed by our team and most importantly the people we serve!
With that, go ahead and drop something in the comments youβd like to share with the newest member of the F5 family, as well as anybody else reading this who needs a little encouragement and support this morning! β¬οΈ
