The flower wall was our 1st stop on this downtown excursion. If I am completely honest, it took over half of the session to get this little toddler to participate without extra trickery. I know if sounds miserable to most but this challenge is actually quite fun and rewarding for me.

This mom wanted a bear scene for her little guy so I bought some bears... lol, any reason to shop, am I right?
He was one month old and really didn't want to sleep. But look at that face with those eye, I love awake babies just as much as sleeping.

It's hard to believe that I've photographed this young woman every year since she was born. It goes so fast! Check out the years of dance outfits hung behind her.... I love that mom kept them for her.

We have a senior and sophomore this year.

Everyone grows up in family portraits over the years, including parents... don't forget to get in the pictures with your kids. They will love it just as much as you in the years to come.

Where has the summer gone? I love fall and see the leaves changing already but I feel like we deserve a rewind button, it went WAY WAY too fast. Anyone agree?

I have known his mom since I was pregnant with my 17yo. Building relationships with you all is the best part of my job.
But seriously, those lashes people! This little man came in with the grumpiest face until the session started.. then he was throwing looks left and right. He did not want the hat on but the art of distraction is a great way to get littles to forget about somethings.

Mom really wanted cake smash pictures with purple flowers, her daughter didn't want cake and really didn't care to sit in the scene...🤣 sounds familiar to me.
I just love the different temperaments of little ones... they are all so unique and beautiful. What they want matters too, so we winged it and did great!

Hello from my cozy office, I am over here filling my belly full of espresso infused protein shakes and editing beautiful faces.

I swear, I am still alive. I haven't spoke up in a while... just buried under editing but I couldn't be happier about it. I love my clients for allowing me to do what I love and coming back to see me each year.
Boy do I miss these beautiful fall days! Only 300 more days until we get to experience them again 😂🙄

I recently read that girls between the ages of 8-12 years old lose 30% of their self-esteem. I feel like it happened overnight, but if I am honest with myself, it was a slow process during a busy season in life and I didn’t pay close enough attention. Finding balance isn’t always easy and I know there is no blame, just reality and coming of age stuff.

But seriously, Where has this year gone?

Let’s just say, teenage years are here and I wasn't prepared for the struggle/battle of the wits, even though I struggled as a teen too. All the worry & insecurity within myself came to the surface, so for the sake of everyone's sanity, we all, parents and kids had to do the work to fix/heal. It is a constant effort and one day at a time! But we are all a work in progress.

Seeing my girls become independent, strong young women is what I've always wanted for them. So even on the hard days, I have to remind myself this is what it takes to have strength, courage and self-esteem. It’s everything I want for them… and for myself, we are like emerging, evolving butterflies 🥰

PS, the behind the scenes man looking like an axe-murderer is my helpful hubby... mentally, he is not ready for winter and also is not an axe-murderer 😂🤣
