Rolling Thunder®, Inc. Chapter 1 NC

The major function of Rolling Thunder®, Inc.

is to publicize POW-MIA issues through education and awareness, to ensure our nation's POWs and MIAs are not forgotten, and to assist Veterans in need.

The Coffee Platoon (R) 08/07/2024

Good Morning Brothers & Sisters,

Just wanted to send a quick note to thank everyone to date who has been purchasing coffee to support Rolling Thunder. We are off to a great start. Everyone is loving the coffee and the taste…some have become addicted already 😊.

Our goal is to make a presentation at the National Conference in November in VA with a donation to RT leadership to help fund all the veteran programs and services. We are striving to get 200,000 members to purchase at least 1 bag or box of coffee for $12 as we are giving back $5 or 41% per item to RT.

Share with your chapters and family and friends. Again, thank you for the support to date.

9/11 Memorial Flag Display | ASOMF 08/01/2024

WARNO

Mr. Thomas McBrien has reached out to me to help get the word out that there will be an es**rt on 11 August 2024 from Fayetteville Airport to the Airborne & Special Operations Museum.

He is currently working to finalize movement from Fort Campbell to Fayetteville/Fort Liberty. ASOM is already tracking reception of the flag and is planning to have it on display beginning August 13th.

Please pass this WARNO to everyone in your circles. We need to see if we can coordinate LEO support for the es**rt as well.

Mr. Thomas McBrien is with Operation Never Forget and I have his phone number if you would like to reach out directly.

FRAGO will be sent with movement times as soon as we know them.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this message as my dear friend Dale Chason, who is known by many if you, is not responding to the immunotherapy. The cancer is in his brain, shoulder, lungs, liver, sternum and pelvic bones, and stomach.

Dale will be returning home in the next day or so and will be on hospice care.

Linda Jones Chason and the family would appreciate your continued prayers.

Please wait until after I message again that he is settled in at home before requesting to visit. When you do visit please keep it to about 30 minutes as he gets tired very easily.

Thank you for understanding.

We will be holding a benefit plate sale to help with medical expenses on Saturday, June 29th from 10:30-3:00 at Freedom Biker Church 455 Rockhill Road.

Your prayers and support would be greatly appreciated.

On April 15, 1968, a T-33 Shooting Star crashed into Mount Rainier. The wreckage was lost in a glacier.

The glacier slowly melted and moved down the mountain. In 2004, the wreckage debris was found, along with the remains of United States Air Force Col. Wilfred B. Crutchfield and Maj. Ivan E. O'Dell.

The Airmen had spent 36 years entombed in a glacier and they were finally laid to rest in Section 60. We honor their service.

Please keep our member Dale Chason is your prayers. He is currently in UNC Chaple Hill. He had a spot removed several years ago from his shoulder that was confirmed melanoma. They got clear margins and he had several checkups stating he was cleared.

He started having some issues while on vacation which resulted in a trip to the hospital.

After initial testing they found 25 spots in his brain and swelling. They are treating him with steroids to bring down the swelling which is making his blood sugar crazy.

They plan on doing a biopsy Wednesday. Once results are in they will make a treatment plan.

Please keep Dale and his family in your prayers.
