Happy National Forensic Interviewers Week! We're grateful to have two of the best Forensic Interviewers out there. Amy Hanson, our Lead Forensic Interviewer, has conducted 398 FI’s in the last 1-½ years. Lynelle Brands, Forensic Interviewer, has conducted 175 FI’s in the last 9 months. Thank you, Amy and Lynelle, for being a voice for children in our community! 💙

*A forensic interview is a structured conversation where questions are asked in a manner that is developmentally appropriate, non-suggestive, unbiased, and legally defensible.

A few of our Fayetteville Ultimate Lip Sync Showdown's Committee Members gathered last night at Sammio's to celebrate the success of this event. We're proud to share the net profits from this crucial fundraiser were $34,586.06, making this the 3rd most successful FULSS we've ever hosted!

To our presenting sponsor (Rainbow Pediatrics), our many other generous sponsors, our fundraising groups/acts, our event attendees, our board of directors, and our hardworking committee members, this would not have been possible without your support and participation. We're grateful for each and every member of "our village"! 💙

Our nearby First Presbyterian Church Fayetteville, NC sure showed their love to our kiddos by delivering to us a total of 30 comfort blankets and stuffed animals! Again, our community continues to remind us that we're not alone in our mission to provide hope and healing for children. 💙

Congratulations to our chapter member, Nadine Miller-Bernard who has been a member of the Board of Directors at the Child Advocacy Center, Fayetteville, NC since 2017. She became Board Chair in January 2023 and was re-elected as Board Chair through 2024.

Fayetteville Alumnae Chapter has supported and collaborated with the Child Advocacy Center since 2013. The Child Advocacy Center collaborates with community partners to respond to and prevent child abuse.

This week, we were honored to take a group of 16 staff members and multidisciplinary team members to the 1st Annual Carolinas' Seaside Symposium on Child Abuse in Myrtle Beach, SC.

We joined the Children's Advocacy Centers of North Carolina and the South Carolina Network of Children's Advocacy Centers in some crucial training, with the goal of "Changing the Tide."

It has been inspiring, to say the least, to be surrounded by other professionals and leaders in our field and to know we're not alone in our fight to prevent child abuse and educate our community. 💙

The public may not know that our organization heavily relies on volunteer-led committees to assist us in our many initiatives, including our signature fundraisers. This year, one of our longtime volunteers, Karen Tisdale, stepped up as Chair of our Fayetteville's Ultimate Lip Sync Showdown Committee and ran with it!

Not only did Karen make significant tweaks to the event, such as producing TWO shows, she also spent countless hours recruiting acts, sponsors, volunteers, and more over several months to make this beloved event as successful as possible.

To say we're thankful for Karen isn't adequate enough, but we did want to shine a spotlight on her and give her all the credit she deserves for leading our committee and ensuring this year's event was a record-breaking one. Please help us give Karen a big round of virtual applause for a job well done! 👏

We're just as proud of these folks for their individual efforts during Child Abuse Prevention Month, because every effort, no matter how small or large, makes a difference in our mission! 💙

Our day was sure made that much sweeter when these members of the Cumberland County Wildlife Club stopped by our office to hand-deliver a check to us! We're certainly honored and humbled they chose our org to be the beneficiary of their very generous donation. 💙

As we close out our 30th anniversary year, we could brag on a number of incredible accomplishments, but none of them would have been possible without folks like our dedicated volunteers, board of directors, and multidisciplinary team members.

To us, these folks are the REAL heroes of the CAC, as they ensure our staff can fulfill our mission of providing hope and healing for children. We look forward to working alongside them in 2024 and are excited for everything the new year holds for our organization! 💙
