In addition to our exhibition for this First Thursday, the sUgAR Gallery is pleased to present a collaborative video exhibition by students completing the Studio Art Foundations Program in the Department of Art.
This is an opportunity for the public to view the creative efforts put forth by our Foundations students on their final project instructed jointly in the courses Time & Motion, taught by Adjunct Professor John Kelley, and Collaborative Thinking, taught by Associate Professor Bethany Springer. In the project assignment entitled World Building, student teams were prompted to create a 3-minute teaser for a movie that does not exist.
Merging the talents of individual students, the teasers skillfully exhibit learned techniques in video and audio editing, graphic design, color theory, drawing, and two- and three-dimensional design, to create distinct worlds beyond their own. These projects, a total of eleven videos, will also be aired on Fayetteville Public Access Television on Sunday, May 10th at 10pm (www.faypublic.tv).
Join us on Thursday, May 7th from 6-8pm for our biannual MFA showcase! The gallery will be filled with incredible works and the entire basement level of 1 East Center will be open to the public to show off what these very talented artists have been working on all semester long. Come on by, explore some studios, and have a great time!
