Seventh grade science students had fun Cookie Mining yesterday. Students were “mining” for coal (chips) and then used the process of reclamation to put the “land” back together. They used this lab to review our Earth’s resources unit vocabulary and think about the economics of different energy resources.
What an awesome morning hosting our future Woodland C**ts! Current 6th graders got a tour of the building, got info about school procedures, and had a pep rally with our cheer and dance teams. Our choir, band, and orchestra students killed it with their performances too. Shoutout to our over 300 students who helped out today and for our counselors planning it out. We can’t wait to see y’all next year!
Woodland Choir Goes to the Movies! What an awesome night hearing our choirs perform songs from famous movies, including Skyfall, I’m a Believer, and Holding Out for a Hero. Thank you Ms. Schlabach and Ms. Duarte-Black for all of your hard work getting these students ready for tonight. Well done everyone!

Congratulations to Mr. Zac Holthoff, our 2024 Woodland Teacher of the Year!!!
His nomination wrote: “Zac is an exceptional co-worker who demonstrates a strong commitment to helping others. His willingness to go above and beyond for anyone is truly remarkable. He consistently creates engaging and effective lessons that not only help students understand the material but also make learning fun. One of Zac’s outstanding qualities is his ability to recognize and address the diverse needs of his students. He understands that not everyone learns at the same pace or in the same way, and he does an excellent job of differentiating his lessons to ensure that all students can grasp the concepts being taught. Zac’s contributions extend beyond his own classroom. He played a key role in developing the new social studies curriculum for the upcoming year. Furthermore, Zac has a generous spirit and willingly shares his resources and knowledge with his colleagues, exemplifying his commitment to the success of every student.”
