Forney ISD is switching our volunteer management and background check system over to Raptor/JDP (previously VOMO/Sterling). Volunteers and all Forney ISD staff were imported into the new system today, and many of you may have received an email regarding your new Raptor account.

VOLUNTEERS: Parent/guardian/community volunteers who completed a background check last year and were approved remain valid for 365 days. For example, if you were approved October 1, 2023, your background check will show clear in the new system until September 30, 2024. You'll get reminder emails to renew before it expires. You may have received an email from Raptor that your account was created this morning.

Forney ISD Superintendent Dr. Justin Terry was honored at the August Board of Trustees meeting by Texas State Representative Keith Bell for being named the Region 10 Superintendent of the Year. Region 10 serves 130 school districts across 10 north Texas counties. Congratulations, Dr. Terry!

Forney Legacy Project received the Forney Family award at the August Board of Trustees meeting for their ongoing partnership and commitment to supporting our students and staff. Thank you for serving our !

Students from Griffin Elementary at Devonshire were also recognized at the Board of Trustees meeting for receiving the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association Student Leadership Award (TEPSA). Ms. Buerck's 4th Grade Leadership was nominated for this prestigious award that recognizes outstanding PK-8 student leadership teams that have demonstrated exceptional commitment to their school communities through their leadership and service.

The Forney ISD Board of Trustees recognized art teachers from across the district for receiving the Texas Art Education Association District of Distinction award. Only 94 districts were chosen for this year's award. Programs are recognized for their outstanding leadership in promoting the arts in their district and community. Congratulations Forney ISD Fine Arts!

Griffin Elementary PTO donated $7,800 to Griffin Elementary at Devonshire to support the campus during the upcoming school year. PTO President Jess Eiland & Principal Kristie Crabtree were honored at the August Board of Trustees meeting.
