Today wrapped up 6-1 CAV’s section and platoon STX field exercise. Troops conducted various platoon-level tasks, increasing our lethality and readiness!
This past Friday 6-1 Cav’s Hellhounds Troop (HHT) held a PT competition between the different staff sections. Congrats to the medics for coming in with the win!
6-1 Cav had the pleasure of showing off some of our equipment to our allies from Australia and Canada today. Both Australia and Canada had NCOs, Warrants, and Officers at the Master Gunner conference, and 6-1 gave them the opportunity to get hands on with some American equipment!
It’s a great day to be a Dragoon!
6-1 had an exciting week, culminating in the Hail and Farewell on Thursday evening, and a presentation of awards, as well as a half day, on Friday!

A few weeks ago Blackfoot Troop held their inaugural Commander’s Cup! The Troop participated in a vigorous physical competition consisting of MOPP 4 water jug carry, tire flip, sprint drag carry, and IOTV vest run. Red PLT walked away victorious, but all the Blackfoot Troopers are ready for the next challenge. After the competition, Blackfoot Troop continued to build Esprit de Corps and camaraderie during their Organizational Day!

The 1st Armored Division was directed to conduct an Emergency Deployment Readiness Exercise on July 17, 2024 to test the 1st Brigade, 1st Armored Division’s ability to alert, recall, and deploy under emergency conditions.
On Friday, we welcomed 1SG Roberto Rodriguez, accompanied by his children Adrianna and Robi, into the Dragoon Family!
1SG Rodriguez will serve as the Blackfoot Troop First Sergeant. He previously served in the 1-305th, 177 Armor located in Camp Shelby, Mississippi.

SGT McKercher is the Brigade NCO of the Quarter. SPC Samisoni is the Brigade Soldier of the Quarter. We are incredibly proud of their dedication, talent, and performance. Thank you for representing our Squadron and charging ahead! Keep up the excellent work.

Earlier this month, Executioner Troop and HHT conducted Change of Command Ceremonies for CPT William E. Moore and CPT Ryan L. Smith.
CPT Moore served as the Executioner Troop Commander, while CPT Smith served as the HHT Commander. Thank you for your dedication and excellent work. Your Dragoon Family is thankful for your service and we look forward to the years ahead.
CPT Moore was joined by his wife, Courtney Moore. CPT Smith was joined by his wife, Hensley Smith. A special thank you to you and all the Spouses of 6-1 CAV: our Squadron would not be the same without your unwavering kindness and support.

Dragoon 7 led an LPD on the 1AD Blue Book in the pursuit to standardize discipline across the Dragoon Squadron. Sometimes you must hear a message from the Horse's Mouth. We must strive to be better than yesterday.

Today the NCO and Soldier of the Month Board was held. After competing against 22 other contestants SGT McKercher and PFC Samisoni came out on top.

This past Friday, we celebrated the promotions of 1LT Matthew Bruder and 1LT Andrew Taylor.
1LT Matthew Bruder is an Armor Officer currently serving in Squadron Operations. He was pinned by CPT Kevin Rincon, the Assistant Operations Officer.
1LT Andrew Taylor is a Medical Services Officer currently serving as the Squadron Medical Officer. He was pinned by his wife of 10 years, Stacey Taylor.

This morning, Blackfoot Troop conducted their Change of Command Ceremony.
We celebrate the dedication & accomplishments of the Outgoing Commander, Captain Xavier Mosley. To recognize his service, he was inducted into the Order of Saint George by the Squadron Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Bernard Gardner.
We welcome the Incoming Commander, Captain Kathryn Tenefrancia, who previously served as Dragoon 4. We are confident in her leadership capabilities and look forward to her service.

Sixth Squadron, First Cavalry Regiment went straight to work a little over a month ago. The Dragoon Squadron was called to support both NTC Rotations 24-03 & 24-04.
The Squadron is the most prepared, certified, and ready cavalry squadron in the United States Army.
During training, troopers conducted various types of screens and reconnaissance missions in order to provide security and early warning for the Ready First Combat Brigade.
Join us in congratulating all the Dragoons as they now return home after a successful rotation.

Today, the Fort Bliss SAMC answered the call to assist in the packing and organizing of over 22k+ lbs of canned food at the El Pasoans Fighting Hunger food warehouse. These packages will be distributed all over El Paso and will be handed out to over 1500 families weekly in need.
Special thank you to the 5 Dragoons who joined me today (Lt Adekola, Sgt Chavarria, Pfc Medrano, Pv2 Sanchez) as well as PV2 Earp who arrived to the Squadron less than 2 weeks ago. All of these soldiers sacrificed one of their last free days before they leave to NTC this week to come out this morning. 🙏🏼
Congratulations to Tempris Perry and Spc. Devin Blow-DeLoatch, 6th Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, on their bundle of joy this Christmas Day! Symphony was the first to be born on this holiday and was gifted a WBAMC onesie from the staff. Congratulations to all the mommies and daddies that had their babies today as well! Merry Christmas!
