Today we honor Chief Warrant Officer 3 Ryan Connolly and Chief Warrant Officer 2 James Casadona

CW3 Ryan Connolly, 37, was an instructor pilot in the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade. He joined the Army in 2001 and arrived at Fort Campbell in 2016. Decorations include; two Air Medals, three Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Superior Unit Award, two Army Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, two Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbons, Army Service Ribbon and an Overseas Service Ribbon. Ryan left behind his wife and two sons.

CW2 James Casadona, 28, was a pilot in the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade. He joined the Army in 2012 and arrived at Fort Campbell in 2018. Decorations include; National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and an Army Service Ribbon. “Jimmy as he was known in the United States Marine Corp enlisted in the Corps February 2012, and served five years as a signals intelligence analyst and radio reconnaissance operator, finishing his enlistment as a sergeant before joining the U.S. Army.

At approximately 9:50 p.m. Friday, two Soldiers of the 101st Combat Aviation “Destiny” Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) were killed in an AH-64E Apache helicopter crash in the local training area on Fort Campbell. Aircraft 17-03125 was in terrain flight.

You are not forgotten!

Today we remember CPT Rene Zeetsen and 1LT Ernst Mollinger of the Royal Netherlands Air Force who died when their aircraft crashed while they were serving with a United Nations peacekeeping mission in the country of Mali. You are not forgotten!

On 24February, 2024, a Mississippi National Guard AH-64 Apache helicopter crashed during a routine training flight in a wooded area near Booneville in Prentiss County, resulting in the loss of two Mississippi National Guard soldiers.
Both Service Members served at the Mississippi National Guard Army Aviation Support Facility 2 located in Tupelo.

One Soldier, Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) 4, Bryan Andrew Zemek, age 36, was in Alpha Company 1st Battalion, 149th Aviation Regiment serving as an AH-64 Delta Apache Standardization Instructor Pilot in Tupelo and CWO4 Derek Joshua Abbott, age 42, assigned to Delta Company of the 2nd Battalion, 151st Lakota Medical Evacuation unit serving as an Maintenance Test Pilot in the Mississippi National Guard.

The aircraft crashed in a wooded area off HWY 30 near Mt. Olive Baptist Church at approximately 1400hrs (2pm).

Today, most will gather with their friends and families to enjoy Thanksgiving. It is the same here at AWF. However, do not forget what today is. For us we are thankful for the men and women who arm, maintain and fly the world’s greatest attack helicopters that keep us safe. We are thankful to those in service to this country, those who have served and those who have sacrificed much to including their lives. We are thankful to our friends and families and our supporters who make our events and Attack Adventures possible to help our community to Heal. Thank you for allowing us to Honor our fallen with you, Heal those that have been left behind and Educate those both within and outside of our Attack Community!

From our beginnings, photographer Lawrence Freeman in a T-28 was killed while photographing YAH-64 #79-23257 when a midair collision occurred. The incident occurred just offshore of Seacliff Park in Encinitas during test flight of YAH-64. The pilot of the T-28 parachuted to safety. Gentlemen, you are not forgotten.

An Apache helicopter crashed near the Ramon Air Force base in the south of Israel on Monday with two crew members inside. One of the two was killed in the incident and the other was seriously injured.

The Israel Defense Forces identified the deceased pilot on Tuesday morning as Maj. David Zohar, a 43-year-old veteran pilot serving in reserve duty.

The pilots were on their way back to the base after a training flight when a technical malfunction was reported around 9 P.M. According to the Israeli army's spokesman, the helicopter crashed near the landing pad at the base.

David Zohar, a husband and a loving father of four.�He was also a leading and dedicated VP at Elbit Systems. �Major (in reserve duty) David Zohar served as a skilled Apache combat helicopter pilot in the Israeli Air Force.
As part of his service he took part in mentoring young pilots, as well as attending many combat activities, defending Israeli troops and citizens.

A routine training sortie in a “Peten” (AH-64 "Apache") attack helicopter from the “Magic Touch” Squadron ended tragically last night (Monday) when the helicopter crashed near the landing strip in Ramon AFB. The crash was the apparent result of a technical malfunction that had been reported by the crew minutes before returning to base.
Major (Res.) David Zohar, a pilot in reserve service, was killed in the crash. The co-pilot was critically injured and evacuated to a hospital.
