Special rate today as Future Sailor Johnson ships to basic training at as an AV! Depending on selection to AE or AT, the AV Sailor will troubleshoot and repair some of the most complex electronic systems employing the latest test equipment and procedures available today. They repair and maintain digital computers, fiber optics, infrared detection, radar systems, electricity generation systems, laser electronics, navigation systems, communications equipment, electrical power distribution, pressure indication systems, and electric transformers and circuits.

AO - Aviation Ordnancemen receive, inspect, package, store, handle, and process for shipment: airborne weapons, air launched torpedoes, aerial mines, and ammunition. They test, assemble, fuse, load, download, arm, and de-arm all airborne weapons, torpedoes, and mines for aircraft carriage, and they receive, inspect, store, load, and download sonobuoys. AOs perform authorized maintenance on airborne weapons, aircraft guns, and targets. They receive, inspect, inventory, configure, test, and maintain Armament Weapons Support Equipment (AWSE), Ordnance Handling Equipment (OHE), and materials handling equipment.

AG - An Aerographer's Mate is the Navy's own weather forecaster. Aerographer's Mates are trained in the science of meteorology and physical oceanography; the Navy's meteorological and oceanographic experts. AGs learn to use instruments that monitor weather characteristics such as air pressure, temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction, and then distribute this data to aircraft, ships and shore activities.
