**Meet the Staff of the City of Fresno Independent Review Office**
We are pleased to introduce the dedicated team behind the City of Fresno Independent Review Office. John Gliatta serves as the Independent Reviewer, and Arlene Medina serves as the Community Coordinator. Our office staff, works diligently to promote trust and transparency within the City of Fresno.

This Saturday, our office will be attending two community events: the Cultivating Communities Together Back to School Health and Resource Fair and Councilman Maxwell’s Beat the Heat Cruising Through Summer. Both events promise to be fantastic, family-friendly opportunities.

Yesterday’s District 7 Beat the Heat event at Romain Park was a fantastic opportunity to connect with families in our community. What a night! 🎉 We enjoyed being part of the ‘Good Times Are Back’ event at Fink White Park last night. Over 300 backpacks were distributed while families enjoyed BBQ, bounce houses, and more. We were honored to participate in the New World Impact Back to School Drive yesterday. Despite the 104-degree weather, the event was a fantastic experience for the community, with smiles all around. Thank you, New World Impact, for allowing us to set up a resource booth and giving us the opportunity to connect with so many wonderful families.

We will be attending the West Fresno Summer Night Fun event this evening at the Mary Ella Brown Center, located at 1350 E Annadale Ave, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This will be a fantastic opportunity for families to enjoy food, music, games, resource booths, and much more. Please stop by our table and say hello.

We are excited to participate in the 5th annual Illuminate Our Pride event at Fresno EOC LGBTQ+ Resource Center on June 29th from 5pm-9pm. As one of the 65+ community resource tables and artisan vendors, we look forward to sharing our information and connecting with the community. Our office will be attending the Edison Youth Activities Community Event tomorrow at Westside Church of God. The event starts at 10:00 AM and ends at 2:00 PM. This is a free community event with resource booths, food, water slides, entertainment, food trucks, and more. We hope to see you there!
At the PACT meeting today, our office presented alongside various other departments and community groups, with the objective of equipping recently released parolees with essential resources and information for a smooth transition into the community. Yesterday's Independent Living Association Fresno Shared Housing Forum & Resource Fair provided us with an ideal platform to showcase our resource booth and connect with a vast number of attendees and other agencies, thereby efficiently communicating our office's role.
The Fresno Independent Living Association is a privately-owned or operated home or multi-unit complex that provides shared housing for adults living with a severe mental illness or co-occurring substance use disorder. Tenants may be on a fixed income, coming out of chronic homelessness, or simply benefit from a shared living environment.

We are grateful for the invitation to the ‘Good Times are Back’ event at Frank H. Ball, extended by the City of Fresno Building Better Neighborhoods and the Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement. The event was a resounding success, with numerous resource booths, entertainment, games, swimming, and food. We had the pleasure of meeting many outstanding families and informing them about our office’s role. We look forward to continued collaboration with our community partners to build a better future for our neighborhood.
Join us tomorrow at the FatherFest Job and Resource Fair, along with a car show! We will have a resource booth set up in the parking lot of the Workforce Connection, 3170 W Shaw Avenue, from 10 AM to 2 PM. In addition to resource booths there will be other attractions. Please stop by the great event being coordinated by the Workforce Connection!

This past Saturday, we had the opportunity to set up a resource booth at the ribbon-cutting event for the new Food to Share Hub at Saint Rest Baptist Church. The new facility will provide access to healthy meals for Southwest Fresno residents. We had the pleasure of meeting many wonderful families and were honored to attend such a momentous event. We are grateful to have been a part of the Hoover Regional Family Engagement Night, held on May 7th, 2024, organized by FUSD Parent University. The event provided an excellent opportunity for families to engage in various activities, such as entertainment, literacy awards, games, and food, and avail valuable resources. We extend our appreciation to FUSD Parent University for their efforts in bringing the FUSD community together and celebrating its students and families. We look forward to future collaborations. On Friday evening, we attended the Del Mar Elementary School Carnival, which offered an assortment of family-oriented activities, food, and resources. We extend our appreciation to the Del Mar Dolphinsfor hosting us and affording us the opportunity to connect with the families while raising awareness about the Office of Independent Review.
Yesterday, we attended the 2024 C.L.A.S.S Central Adult School Annual Resource Fair. We had the opportunity to meet with students and their families and discuss our office. Our office had an information booth at the Fresno May 1st Coalition event, commemorating the International Day of the Worker known as Dia Internacional De Los Trabajadores, held at Eaton Plaza yesterday. We are grateful to CHIRLA for inviting us and providing us with the opportunity to meet many wonderful residents of Fresno.
