Today we celebrate the birth of Emelia Lenora Joachin! Congratulations to Bri and Alex on the birth of their sweet little love! Help us celebrate Emelia and congratulate the happy parents!
Happy Workiversary Sabrina! 🎉
(We missed it by a few days!)
Sabrina is an incredibly creative and devoted therapist… and she’s pretty skilled at lifting heavy weights! She loves to travel and she’s always up for adventure 🌇
We LOVE having you at TALK, Sabrina!
This last week Aubrie co-presented two sessions at the 20th Apraxia Kids National Conference. She also had the opportunity to collaborate with parents about supporting their children along the apraxia journey.
We are so proud of Aubrie and the way that she SHINES - using her voice to help others find theirs ⭐️
🎉 Happy 9 year anniversary, Lessa!
Lessa has worked for TALK for 9 years! She finds great joy in seeing her clients and students grow and find their voice. Passion for things to be done well and individualized for each client (and their family) is important to her as a therapist. She loves being a mama to her two boys, watching baseball and doing yoga!
🎉 This week has been a big celebration week for our TALK therapists!
One special birthday and two TALK anniversaries! A special Monday, indeed! Help us celebrate these incredible humans!
Katie 🎂
Is a freaking badass triathlete, who is currently training for her first full Iron Man. Loves her dogs, her husband, and time on the boat. Also an intensely creative speech pathologist, whether she’s in person or seeing kiddos virtually.
Amanda 🎉
Is a remarkable leader, who is consistent and committed to her team and the kiddos. Spends a lot of time traveling because her daughters are incredible athletes and her first one is heading to college in the fall.
Daymie 🎉
She is the queen of creative consistency and will always greet you with a smile. She is excited to support every client who comes through the TALK doors for whatever they need. And her hair sparkles!
We are so grateful for each of these remarkable ladies!
Happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸 🎆
Today, we celebrate the land of the free and the home of the brave. Let’s enjoy the fireworks, BBQs, and the joy of freedom. Wishing everyone a safe and joyous Independence Day!
Our team will be out of office for the remainder of the week. We will see you on Monday!
Keepin’ our super COOL staff, super COOL 🧊🍦
We are so grateful for the incredible humans that form our team!
Cooperative Clean-Up! 🧹 🧽
Starting off our Monday fresh by practicing our “clean-up skills.” It’s summer time and the kids are home much more - which means more messes (probably!)
There is a lot of language and social interaction to target while cleaning up. Following directions, giving directions and working together are important life skills! Don’t be afraid to take a little longer cleaning up, so that your kiddos can practice these skills 😃
Thank you Sabrina and Aubrie for sharing your fun session with us!
➡️ Do you let your kids clean-up or is it more tempting to clean the messes quickly yourself? Let us know in the comments 👇🏻
Welcome Julian!
We are excited to add Julian to our team as Client Care Coordinator! You will also see him up at our front desk 😃
Happy Birthday, Diego!
We are so glad that you are a part of TALK!
Diego lives for adventure and travel, watching The Simpsons, and buying amazing jackets.
Help us celebrate Diego in the comments! 🎉
Brie is officially on maternity leave!
We know we will miss her bright-shining personality around the office 🫶🏼 Stay tuned for an update on who will be supporting her role during her absence!
Happy maternity leave, Brie! See you soon(ish)! 🩷 Help us wish her well in the comments below!
What tour?
The world tour!
We couldn’t help but jump on this trend 😂
Tell us what would “ruin the tour” for you in the comments 👇🏻
Help! It’s Summer and I don’t know what to do with my kids every day…
We’ve heard your requests and we’re here to help with a pretty simple recipe!
1. Pick a theme! The night before (or planned earlier in advance) talk about the theme for the next day (space, farm, ocean, bugs, vehicles, princesses, superhero’s, etc) Everything follows suit with this and helps expose your kiddos to varied vocabulary and learning experiences!
2. Grab a book, 2, or 3! Read with or have your kiddos read the book.
3. Pick a physical activity for the day. Walk, bike ride, swimming, obstacle course, hike, etc.
4. Make something. Draw, build with legos, craft, or bake! We love using Art for Kids Hub for their aided drawings.
5. Play! Play a game that goes with your theme or incorporate things you have learned about the theme within your game (I.e. charades, hangman, etc)
Bonus: pick a themed show or movie that goes with the theme! You don’t have to include every one of these elements, but it helps with not feeling stuck and filling your kids days with fun learning experiences 😃
What’s your favorite theme for your kiddos? Share your ideas below to help other parents!
Hey SLPs & SLPAs!
One of the changes coming this July is in regard to the experience of the supervising SLP. It used to be that you just needed to finish out your CF year and be licensed in California. Now, supervising SLPs must have 2 full years of experience or 3,120 hours of service after your CF year.
Are you currently a supervisor? Let us know in the comments! 😃
Happy Juneteenth! ❤️💛💚
We can’t wait to see you today!
☀️ TALK absolutely loves participating in each summer! 🏄♂️ 🏄♀️
Amy referred to today as “the best day” and noted that the ocean brings out such bravery in the kids! She even got to see some of our Sanger kiddos!
Follow Their Lead 👧🏼👦🏽🧒🏿
At TALK we believe in “following their (the child’s) lead” in order to foster the most supportive environment and ultimately create magic! We can adjust our environment, the way the child wants to play and even our “speed” - all of which help build rapport with our clients!
Have you ever had a whole session planned out, just to have it be completely and utterly wrong for the child? Or at the least, wrong for the child on that particular day? We have! You aren’t alone. There is wisdom in knowing when to switch away from your “plan” for your session and just go with the flow!
“Let it shine… let it shine… let it shine…”
…all the way down the 🚽 😂
When you’re 3 and p**p is everything. 🤷🏻♀️
(We almost forgot it was Wednesday, but couldn’t let this one slip away!)
TALK is hiring for an Employee Experience Specialist at our Fresno location!

If you graduate a kid from speech…
They’re going to want back in 😂🫶🏻
Anyone else’s kids trying to get back on their caseload?!
Today was magic.
And if you’re a speech therapist in the school system, you know that magic at the end of May can be rare!
I’ve done five preschool AAC assessments in the last six weeks. And today I did a first session with a dedicated communication device that came out of one of those assessments.
I am not exaggerating when I tell you that this little girl lit up with excitement when we started exploring the device! She tries to communicate verbally, but it’s so limited...and when she realized she could name colors and shapes and letters and numbers and ask for help, she was thrilled! We would finish a task and she would go hunting for something else and bring it back to me and then wait for me to show her how to talk about it with her tablet
And there was so much happiness for all of us watching her unlock this new skill. Tears in my eyes and a bit of a knot in my throat because this is why I do this job.
Yes, MAGIC in the end of May in our little preschool SDC classroom. And I loved every moment!
~Amy Prince
“If I haven’t identified a child’s strengths and clearly conveyed them to the team, then I haven’t done my job. Certainly not well.” - SLP
It is so important that we identify a child’s strengths in order to capitalize on growth opportunities and recognize the amazing things the child IS able to do! Often, it is easy to see the challenges and areas of needed growth, especially since the child has been referred to us for concerns with development. But, our clients/students are all unique with unique strengths and challenges and as we are given the privilege of supporting each client/student (and their family) we would not be doing our job well, if we failed to see their strengths.

We often get questions about being multilingual and if it impacts development. Check this article out to clear up some common myths!
Young Children Learning Multiple Languages: Parent FAQs Approximately 20% of children in the United States speak a language other than English at home, with Spanish as the most common non-English language.
Happy Friday!! 😃
One of our FAVORITE things is to hear from our clients (present and past)! When you share your story we are celebrating right along with you (often there are happy tears!)
The thing about social media is that it helps others find what they are looking for! If you are or have been a TALK client and want to send us a little review on Google, you can use the QR code on the 2nd page (screenshot, go to your photos and just press and hold until the link pops up)
We are sincerely grateful for being a part of your family’s journey!

Our Story
Amber and Amy started The TALK Team to allow for the growth and potential of ourselves as therapists and our clients as communicators. We are dually certified as speech language pathologists and board certified behavior analysts. The blend of these two approaches has taught us a variety of ways to teach a vast amount of skills. We have had the opportunity to train 9 AMAZING therapists with the techniques that we have learned over the last 20 years along with the highly individualized skills that each has brought to TALK.
We have learned the value not only of communication itself, but thinking outside of the box to create a comprehensive, play based approach that is individualized for each child that we meet. We hold paramount that the more fun we have, the more fun our clients will have, and the more successful they will become. So let’s learn to have more fun!!
This is a place where you will find ideas and inspiration. We firmly believe that every child can communicate and flourish, when provided with the right environment. We believe that parents are their child’s first and most important teacher and we are dedicated to providing tools and ideas to help you along your journey. Every child has the capability to learn and grow and become a functional communicator! Communication is what allows us to access our environment. It is the most important skill that a child can learn. Without communication, all other skills become less functional. Children may have a ton of information and ideas but if they can’t express them, they are left untouched.
