In ‘s words:
It’s heartbreaking, but not surprising.
Women are blamed for their own abuse.
Instead of support, they hear:
“Why were you out at night? What were you wearing?
Why didn’t you call for help? Why were you alone?
That’s why women shouldn’t work.”
Society only believes survivors if they’re the ‘perfect victim’:
“So you were drinking? You must have wanted it. Why did you go to his house? You don’t look like someone who was raped.”
Who believes us? Who cares when a woman says she’s been abused? Why must we relive the horror in gruesome detail to demand justice?
From Nirbhaya to Hathras and countless others, justice remains out of reach. Stop calling each case ‘another Nirbhaya’-these aren’t rare incidents. They happen every day. While we share the brutal Kolkata case, millions of women suffer in silence. Fight for all of them. Hold the abusers accountableDon’t celebrate rapists. Don’t excuse their actions.
Women have been used as weapons in politics. Think of Manipur, where women were paraded naked, or the Dalit woman who was silenced with threats and death.
The Kolkata case is inhumane, but it’s just one of many.
When rapists hold power, women are reduced to commodities. Abusers don’t look different-they have families and still commit these acts. Stop victim blaming.
If independence doesn’t mean freedom, justice, and equality, it means nothing.

Changemaker and Youth Leader of Save the Child Foundation@mayukha_t from Los Angeles finds her way into the slums of Hyderabad with purpose and intent to End Period Poverty.
While PARI PADS is just a vehicle to open up a dialogue about topics of taboo, we primarily use them as ice breakers to talk about for fundamental issues and rights of Gender Equality.
Mayu brings so much energy and deep thought to our mission and articulating the vision, she very passionately champions Girl Child agendas in the Los Angeles Schools and also champions our Cups vision in the suburbs of Los Angeles.
Grateful to SavetheChild India team for facilitating these interactions.
From ‘s wall :
At Pari Pads, we believe in more than just providing products; we are committed to creating change and breaking taboos around menstrual health. Our mission is to be a beacon of light for women everywhere, empowering them with the dignity and support they deserve.
Recently, we had the incredible opportunity to reach out to a community of resilient women who, despite facing vulnerability and adversity, continue to fight for life and sustainability. We gifted them Pari Pads as a step toward alleviating one of the many challenges they face.
But this is just the beginning. We need your support to expand our reach and impact. Join us in our mission to create a world where menstrual health is no longer a barrier but a symbol of strength and empowerment.

Alshifa is a Save the Child Scholar from Mumbai currently rising to high school and represents a million children out there who is at risk of early exit from schools due to financial limitations and lack of access to their rights. .kranti ‘s ward Alshifa derives and manifests her Sheetal di’s energy and tenacity to make it count.
Inspite of the great merit of these children and that of the cause, organizations such as Save the Child Foundation struggle to keep up with our appetite to educate as many children as possible and always fall short of our goals.
Is anyone keeping a count of all the countless children from the slums and then the forgotten ones - the special needs children.

🌍✨ On this World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, July 30, we stand together to raise awareness about the urgent issue of human trafficking, especially its devastating impact on children. This year’s theme, “Leave No Child Behind in the Fight Against Human Trafficking,” reminds us that one in three trafficking victims is a child, often subjected to forced labor, sexual exploitation, and illegal adoption.Let’s unite to advocate for comprehensive solutions that protect vulnerable children and address the systemic factors contributing to their exploitation. Together, we can create a safer world where every child is free from the horrors of trafficking. 💪❤️

👗✨ Spreading Warmth and Joy! ✨👗

We are thrilled to share a heartwarming initiative led by one of our dedicated board members, Lavanya E-puri. Under her leadership, she collected gently used clothes and sent them to India with the help of friends traveling there.

Sunanda Guruzu, our country head for Save the Child Foundation India, ensured these clothes reached those in need at two wonderful homes: Rainbow Home for Girls in Secunderabad and Akshara Girls Home in Hyderabad.

This initiative brought smiles and warmth to many young girls, and we are so grateful to everyone who contributed. Together, we are making a difference, one act of kindness at a time.
