Getting out and moving more, can mean an increase risk and exposure to you hands dirty. Not a bad thing. Here are 5 tips to help minimize exposure and improve hand hygiene. 1. Keep your equipment clean. clean equipment not only helps reduce microorganisms from living on the surface, but will also help ensure proper mechanical functioning of equipment while allowing you to inspect it for safe use. 2. Keep your floors clean, so feet will not stick, but to reduce the amount of pollen being circulated when traffic moves through the room. This also helps reduce frequency of changing out air filters. 3.Clean the air, by following step 2, but also install humidifiers and or ventilators as need based on environment/people needs. 4. Keep hand sanitizer close to high touch point areas to help minimize the spread of germs. 5. Educate people on why good hand washing practices should be encouraged and how it relates to your operation. As you increase your activities in July, remember your not the only living organism being active. Get out and enjoy the sun and have some fun.

Here's quick test for checking signs of dehydration. The pinch test It's not just for St. Patrick's day (luck of the Irish)! can be used to check your hydration status. When pinching the skin and it returns back to normal very slowly then your probably severely dehydrated. If you pinch the skin and it returns to normal slowly then your somewhat dehydrated. and if you pinch the skin and it returns to normal instantly then chances are your not dehydrated. Stay aware in the heat. every trick of the trade helps to recognize the signs of dehydration.

Happy 4th of July!!!
Celebrating with fireworks is fun. But don't for get to turn on the waterworks. The dog days of summer are here. Fun in the sun can lead to dehydration real quick. As the body works to cool itself, down it uses water. So make sure your staying hydrated, this helps the heart and blood volume. Muscles decrease in water, blood gets thicker, making it harder to cool us down. Slow down on the alcohol consumption and drink more water. But more importantly have fun in the sun with your family and friends.

Nutritional breakdown of peaches
One raw medium peach (147 grams) has 50 calories, 0.5 grams of fat, 0 grams of cholesterol and sodium, 15 grams of carbohydrate, 13 grams of sugar, 2 grams of fiber and 1 gram of protein. It provides 6% of your daily vitamin A needs and 15% of daily vitamin C needs. One medium peach also contains 2% or more daily value of vitamins E and K, niacin, folate, iron, choline, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, manganese, zinc and copper.

Health Benefits of Peaches
Peaches are low in calories (100 g just provide 39 calories), and contain no saturated fats. Nonetheless, they are packed with numerous health promoting compounds, minerals, and vitamins. Fresh peaches are a moderate source of antioxidants and vitamin C which is required for the building of connective tissue inside the human body. Consumption of foods that are rich in vitamin C helps a person develop resistance against infections and helps to eliminate harmful free radicals that cause certain cancers.

Nutrition: Did you ever wonder why fishermen put ice on their freshly caught tuna, Mahi mahi,bluefin, sardines, anchovies, mackerel, amberjack abalone, and scallops? If not properly refrigerated, bacteria begin to break the flesh of the fish and histamine are formed. (Scombroid poisoning) also known as histamine poisoning. Histamine is heat resistant, so make sure you maintain adequate temperature control when catching, storing, canning to minimize the risk. Scrombroid fish poison can occur even with fish that is properly canned and cooked. Symptoms may include a tingling or burning sensation in the mouth, upper body rash, a drop in blood pressure and headaches. Can be severe for elderly taking medications. Symptoms rarely fatal and can last up to 2 days. So if you go out to eat make sure the restaurant is of good standings with health inspections, and food handling procedures are followed. This will help ensure that low calorie meal doest make you sick causing you to miss a workout or two.
