Home prices rose 18.6% annually in June, up from a 16.8% increase in May, according to the S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller national home price index. Prices are now 41% higher than their last peak during the housing boom in 2006. Home prices continue to surge due to strong demand and persistent low supply. (CNBC)

Alone, numbers can tell a story, paint a picture,
set the scene - often better than words can.
As you can see, last month’s DFW area numbers serve to remind
us that we North Texans are living in the
right place at the right time when it comes to
residential real estate.
Signs of a leveling out have appeared in
certain areas as the buying frenzy subsides
somewhat, while remaining very healthy.
Opportunities are available, but without the
fierce competition we saw in spring. As we
head into fall and the holidays, I am optimistic
it will still be a good time to buy or sell or
invest if that’s where life is taking you.
