Students have started presenting their personal timelines to the class. Students were presented the Clock of Eras, a material that introduces the children to the big picture of the timeline of the eras, but in a pie chart format. Then we walked the Long Black Strip, a Montessori material that is used to teach students about the age of the Earth and the relative shortness of human history. It is a long, black strip that is unrolled to represent the time that has passed since Earth's formation!
