Here's the recording from the January 31st Foundation Scholarship Family Webinar. Thank you to Pam and Allison for leading this conversation and answering questions! Share the link below with your student to encourage them to apply in advance of the March 20, 2024 deadline!
https://stockton.edu/development-foundation/foundation/foundation-scholarships.html
Key Takeaways:
-Foundation Scholarships are for current and continuing Stockton students. If your Osprey has not yet begun their Stockton journey, they can learn about scholarship opportunities for incoming students through the office of Admissions.
-Application deadline of March 20, 2024 at 11:59pm is firm! Encourage your student to start the application early to avoid any last minute technical difficulties and to give their recommender ample time to write their recommendation.
-Write the essay draft in a Word document or similar to better support editing and grammar checks. Copy and paste a final version into the application- applications can be edited and revisited at any time until the deadline.
-Follow the prompt instructions! If the application says to answer two of the questions, answering all 5 questions does not give the applicant an advantage.
-If your student applied previously and didn't receive a scholarship, they should apply again! The applicant pool and your student's experiences change every year. If they didn't get a scholarship last year, they could receive one this year.
-Foundation Scholarship recipients must re-apply each year.
This Wednesday January 31, 2024 at 6:00pm join us for a virtual conversation with the Foundation Scholarship team as they walk us through everything you need to know to support your current Stockton student through the Foundation Scholarship Application Process.
The Zoom link will be sent out via the family email listserv!
Did your student receive tonight's Stockton Alert Text message? If not, prompt them to follow the instructions from Student Transition Programs' recent post (attached here) to ensure their phone number is signed up!
