She will be dearly missed.

Linda was very clear that she wanted a party - a celebration - and not a funeral. She wanted us to remember the happy time we shared and not dwell on the end. In fact, her exact words to me were “don’t you dare do sad.”

So, we celebrate.

Sarah and James wanted to extend their heartfelt thank you for all of the kind words and donations received towards all of the associated costs. What a relief you helped provide in such a difficult time.

Our wonderful and fierce leader is now our angel looking over us. Linda passed away peacefully this morning surrounded by her family and close friends. Linda, your hand and care will forever be on everything GSC. The little downtown York St smoothie shop has grown into where it is today because of you.

You’ve touched so many lives, and your memory will carry with us forever. We love you, Linda. Rest peacefully with a chai latte in one hand and notepad in the other. ❤️

This one is painful. The last few weeks have been challenging as our beloved Linda has unexpectedly been made aware of aggressive cancer that has placed her in a critical state. I’m calling all GSC, GPG, CrossFit, School District, and the entire Gettysburg community to rally together and join us for a fundraiser to show our support and love and help cover some of the costs associated with what’s happened and what’s ahead.

Linda has touched so many lives throughout her life and career. She has the kindest heart and would do absolutely anything for you no matter the ask. She’s a wonderful mother, an amazing friend, and a strong and hardworking leader.

It’s scary and terribly sad - and our hearts are broken as after discussions with doctors and family it’s been determined that the primary objective now is to ensure that Linda stays comfortable, and that a long and painful fight against the cancer is not feasible. Linda isn’t worried about herself. She’s worried about all of you - her friends, family, colleagues.

Please join us at GPG on Memorial Day or any other day you can come to donate, pick one or all of the fundraiser workouts (optional), and PLEASE record a small video or take a photo showing support that I can share with her during my next visits. Checks or cash accepted, checks will be made out to Linda’s daughter handling things.

We’ve already started collecting donations and the workouts are on the large white board for you to do at any time. Main groups will go at 7 and 11 on Monday at the Outlets. Thank you Taylor and Mandy for the programming and coaching during the events.

Day passes will be waived for these scheduled times at the main gym and for anyone that wants to come in to do the workout and donate. Just please ask our team to sign a waiver or download the RhinoFit app through the gym. We will also have this workout on Tuesdays boot camp and possibly Thursday depending on where continued participation is.

Life is delicate. Hug your loved ones. Enjoy and appreciate every moment.

Emmitsburg - here we go!

We’re thrilled to announce that we are opening our Emmitsburg location this coming Wednesday (22nd). We will be starting just as we did in our original location with smoothies and bowls, but will be adding specialty coffee in the next couple of weeks once our espresso machine arrives.

We will be open Wednesday-Sunday 9a-4p and we will adjust hours as we familiarize ourselves with what the community wants/supports.

GSC is a small business based out of Gettysburg, PA. We opened our first location in 2022 right off of the Square and have since expanded to Gettysburg College and the Gettysburg Outlets. We use fresh to frozen fruits for all of our smoothies (no ice) and take extreme pride in using highest quality ingredients for both our smoothies and acai bowls (also have coconut, dragonfruit, and blue cloud bowls).

Our specialty coffee coming soon will be something you’ll definitely need to try!

My wife and I have 5 children and we started this company with our general manager, Linda, her son James, and our other original teammate Alexis right by our side. We have an incredible team of over 20 teammates now! Our shop manager Maddie will be the primary person in Emmitsburg but you will likely see all of us in and out throughout the week.

We look forward to providing Emmitsburg with some delicious healthy options and will strive to become a positive member of the community just as we have in Gettysburg.

The York location was the PERFECT place for us to start, and we created some lasting memories from menu creation and customer relationships. But as we’ve grown, we’ve expanded into larger spaces to accommodate for more offerings (such as coffee). The outlets location has proven to be the preferred convenient spot for many of our regulars, and we felt that having to seasonally close downtown each year did not make much business sense with the College location added and Emmitsburg opening.

We’re fortunate to have grown this quickly and need to make these necessary steps, but the starting location will surely be missed.

Outlets open today - Emmitsburg within WEEKS, and College through the remainder of the class schedule.

She never likes attention like this, so… let’s all wish Linda a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I knew she’d be on to me with a picture so I decided our very first smoothie picture on the day we all tested and made the menu was a nice tribute to how much Linda’s contributed to the growth of this company - from early ideas to entirely new locations. She means the world to us and we are so incredibly appreciative of everything she does.

We’re looking for one or two new teammates here at GSC for MORNING shift positions (around 7:30 - 3p). Anyone interested must be reliable and ready to work in a fast-paced environment as this position will be primarily for our Outlets and College locations, although some shifts may be at another location (Downtown or Emmitsburg) as needed. Competitive hourly rate and a great team. No experience necessary but food service experience helps.
