Another wonderful League season kickoff at the Lake Ellyn VOTEhouse! We heard about the cornerstones of democracy that we need to fight for from LWVUS VP Sania Irwin, and found out how we can contribute.

Just 7 weeks until voting begins! Do you have a plan to vote? You can request a vote-by-mail ballot today from dupagecounty.gov/election or find locations to vote early or on election day. And in DuPage County, you can vote in person in any DuPage polling location due to our first-in-the-state secure election system that prints your ballot when you check in. It's your voice, vote!

Today is the first day to request a vote by mail ballot. College students, be sure to request one to be mailed to your college address!

Today is the 105th Anniversary of the founding of the League of Women Voters of Illinois! Here's to another year of fighting the good fight for democracy 🇺🇸

June 19th is Juneteenth, a day to commemorate the emancipation of the last remaining enslaved people in the United States. However, the fight for Black liberation was not resolved with the end of slavery and the US Civil War, and this day reminds us of the injustice and brutality in our nation's history.

As an organization dedicated to empowering voters and defending democracy, the League is committed to building a future of progress and equity for all.
