Pride of the West getting ready for another award-winning season!!
If you were not able to come in and exchange your iPad for a Chromebook last week, we have updated information on our website in how to do so before school starts:
Mountain Ridge High / Homepage We offer over 50 AP/Dual Enrollment/Honors courses. Take advantage of these courses to academically challenge yourself and start earning college credit in high school.
This is an incredible program and the message even features one of our incredible recent graduates!
Just a reminder that THIS week we are exchanging all student iPads for Chromebooks. If students are not able to make it, a family member can come in their place as long as the student has backed up the data and reset the iPad. If nobody is able to make it, check the website AFTER this Friday, 7/19, for how students will be able to make the exchange.
Detailed information has been emailed home and to all students but you can also find it here:

Paris here we come!! The path to getting here has been everything but easy; a story for another time. For now I am super excited to have the opportunity to defend my two titles this summer (9/1/24) and be joined by friends and family in Paris.
As noted earlier, in a couple of weeks we will be exchanging all returning students' iPads for new Chromebooks. This year's 10th grade will come in on 7/16, 11th grade on 7/17, and 12th grade on 7/18 (there will also be a make up day on the 19th).
On our website (link below) we have very detailed information on what times students are supposed to show up, where to go, and most importantly, how to prepare their iPads before coming to school to turn them in. If the student is not able to come, a parent can come in to make the exchange and if nobody can come in, check the website AFTER the 19th for instructions in when to pick up the Chromebook.

Attention incoming Freshmen for the 24-25 school year - please take note of the following two important events. More details will be posted to the website as well as emailed home to parents the first week of July.
This upcoming school year all DVUSD high school students will be using Chromebooks instead of iPads. This past year BGHS and SOHS were on Chromebooks but the remaining 3 high schools will now be transitioning for 24-25.
We will be using the latest versions of the Lenovo 500e Chromebooks. We are excited for this change because now students will have access to a built-in keyboard but can still use the devise as a tablet if they wish.
Detailed information will be sent out to families in July but please note that we will have grade-based days two weeks before the start of school for students to come in and exchange their iPads for Chromebooks. New Sophomores will come in on Tuesday, 7/16, new Juniors will be on Wednesday, 7/17, and new Seniors on Thursday 7/18 (and parents can come in for the exchange if students are not available). Freshman and New Ridge Students will get their devises on Walk Through Day, Thursday, 7/25.
There will be backup dates available if you are not able to make those days but we at least want to get these on your calendar.
We are excited to introduce our new head football coach, Andy Johnson!
This is required of all seniors to get their pictures taken at Grads. This picture taking is free but then you will then certainly be allowed to purchase picture packages if you wish. Appointments are hard to come by in the Fall so book as soon as you can.
