The ACU Music Department is pleased to announce its annual Music and Worship Camp will be held on Friday, February 23rd!🎶 Join the music faculty and ACU students for a day of workshops, worship, tours, and rehearsals to get an idea as to what it is like to study music at ACU!
All instrumentalists and vocalists are welcome to experience choir, band, string ensemble, musical theater, music production/tech, and much more! This event is free of charge and lunch is provided. See the link in our bio for the registration information. Can’t wait to see you there!

Ignite was spectacular this year! ✨ The focus was the names of God. It was amazing to see students worship, share testimonies, and experience the Lord in new ways. We can't wait for next time!

Welcome back!! This semester the ACU Music Department will be buzzing with exciting events, including student recitals, concerts, worship events, masterclasses, the musical, and much more. ✨ We can't wait!

Do you play an instrument or sing? Consider becoming a part of the wonderful music ensembles at Arizona Christian University!🎶 ACU offers a variety of ensembles that musicians of all levels can participate in and enjoy (descriptions below). Beginners are encouraged to join! All ensembles are 1 credit and are advised by our exceptional faculty!

•Chorale (MEC100) is ACU’s large choir led by Dr. Balinski. This ensemble meets 2x per week and is open to anyone who loves to sing.

•Chamber Singers (MEV400) is a small, auditioned group of singers also led by Dr. Balinski. They study music of many styles and perform often!

•Developmental Band (MEF101) meets 2x per week and is led by Prof. Coffey. It is designed for beginner instrumentalists eager to delve deeper into their chosen instruments and collaborate with fellow students.

•Symphonic Winds (MEF300) also convenes 2x per week and is led by Prof. Coffey. This is intended for instrumentalists with over a year of experience on their instrument, aiming to enhance their skills within an ensemble setting.

•Jazz Band (MEJ300) allows students to try their hand at playing or singing jazz music. Led by Prof. Gerken, this ensemble meets once a week and is a highlight of the semesterly Band concerts!

•Small Ensemble (MES100), led by Prof. McIntyre, allows students to study music collaboratively with 2-5 other students. Open to all instrumentalists, students can participate in string quartets, wind trios, piano duos, and more!

•Praise Band (MEP100) allows students who want to gain experience leading worship to learn from professionals and perform with other students for Chapel services.

•Advance Band (MEA300) is ACU’s elite worship group that tours the region and leads many of ACU’s Chapel services. [By audition only]

•Musical Theater (MUP371), led by Prof. Hirsch, provides students with an opportunity to live out their theater dreams! [Offered in Spring semesters]

At the beginning of December, we hosted our first Composition Gala! The night was a captivating display of talent, with our Composition Majors stepping into the spotlight to present their unique masterpieces. ✨ It was truly extraordinary!

Our Christmas Concert was such a memorable experience! Thank you to all who attended our final concert of the season. We had a packed house!! ✨

Our last Atrium Concert of the Fall semester was such a blast!! We are looking forward to what the New Year brings!✨🎄

In November, our generous music patrons, Don and Mary King, hosted a private house concert for the ACU Board of Trustees. A select group of students had the pleasure of showcasing their talents, creating a delightful and intimate display of the excellence within our music department. We hope to do another event like this again!

Tomorrow, Wednesday, December 6th at 7 pm is our Christmas Concert!! We hope to see you there! ✨

We are happy to announce our Composition Gala with be hosted on Monday, December 4th at 7 pm! ✨Please wear semi-formal attire and join us at the reception to follow! We are so excited to see you there!

This Friday is our vocal Masterclass featuring Judith Cloud pieces! We are hosting Stephanie Fox and are thrilled she will be working with our students! ✨

This Monday we are having our drum, bass, and guitar recital at 7 pm in the King Auditorium! It is going to be epic!!✨
