Since 1999, the Denim Day campaign has empowered communities to raise awareness during Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

Ending Women's History Month with Inspiration and Creativity!

Our Girls' Circle embarked on an empowering journey last week to celebrate the incredible women who shape history and inspire us today. Partnering with the Huntington Library & Botanical Gardens , we explored "Borderlands," highlighting diverse perspectives in American art history.

Our girls reflected on the significance of recognizing female figures and discussing progress and challenges at Girls Circle. Inspired by their trip, they crafted heartfelt poetry honoring influential women in their lives.

Through art, reflection, and creativity, we celebrated the past, present, and future achievements of women everywhere. Here's to the remarkable women who shape our world! "

Last Tuesday, Mayor Dan Brotman and the Glendale City Council presented Tara Peterson, Executive Director of the Glendale and Pasadena YWCA, with a Mayor’s Commendation for her outstanding contributions to our community.

"Tara Peterson has been a steadfast advocate for gender and racial equity," Mayor Brotman expressed. "Her expertise in violence against women, revitalization of the YWCA's legacy, and co-founding of the Coalition for an Anti-Racist Glendale exemplify her dedication to championing equality for all."

Under Tara's leadership, crucial conversations were sparked, key programs were expanded, and impactful initiatives like Glendale's Sundown Town Resolution were crafted.
