Mu Delta
A professional fraternity for Pre-Medical students at UCSB The Mu Delta Premedical Fraternity got its start on May 25th, 2011. Their goals were simple:
1.)
The founding fathers set out to establish a brotherhood of the brightest minds at UCSB who wished to pursue careers in medicine. To establish a brotherhood among men who wish to become medical doctors, and who are devoted to the institutions of higher learning.
2.) To promote leadership, excellence, service, and ethics that extend throughout the lives of the members of this fraternity and into their communities.
Stop by the lawn outside the SRB and pelt the brothers of Mu Delta with water balloons! All proceeds will be donated to doctors without walls
Midterm szn hasn’t stop the boys of MD from having fun!🔥

He also spends time volunteering at cottage hospital with Partners in Wellness. In the past, Chetan has worked as a research assistant at the DeTomasso Lab and a biotech company called Cepheid, and he has also spent time volunteering with a tutoring company called Step Up Tutoring. In his free time, Chetan loves playing basketball, spending time with friends and family, and traveling to new places.
“I joined this fraternity thinking I would make a lot of friends and gain a bunch of resources to help me navigate the complex life of a pre-med student, but after being a part of this fraternity for over a year and a half, it has become a core part of my identity at UCSB. The brothers of Mu Delta have pushed me both academically and socially, allowing me to become a stronger, more well rounded person. Being surrounded by people with similar mindsets and aspirations has allowed me to find a home during my last two years at UCSB, and I have been able to even be a mentor to those younger than me, helping them academically. I know that I can always be myself and have fun with the people in MD, and the memories I have made here will be the ones that I remember the most long after I graduate.”
The boys of Mu Delta have been busy to start 2023! From Vegas, to Big Bear, we’ve all had a ton of fun, And we’re looking forward to a great spring quarter!

He also works as an emergency department tech at Cottage Hospital in downtown SB. Sean has previously worked for Devereaux Advanced Behavioral Health caring for individuals with mental/developmental differences and has volunteered with UCSB SciTrek teaching science to elementary school students. In his free time, Sean likes to be outdoors surfing, scuba diving, fishing, skiing, and snowboarding. Sean plans to work in Santa Barbara during a gap year before starting medical school.
Fun fact: Sean has been to all 8 of the Channel Islands!—————————————————————
“Being around the brothers of Mu Delta has constantly inspired me to continue my pursuit of medicine. MD has given me a perfect balance in my undergraduate career of rigorous academics on one side and rewarding brotherhood on the other. I love how close our whole fraternity is and don’t think there’s a more hardworking, genuine group of people on campus.”
