These scammers are requesting a deposit and then never respond to them again that is when they call us. We here at our rescue require a meet and greet b4 you can adopt. We also do not accept fees until puppy is in your hands going home. Please be careful this is not the only scam also we do not ask you to meet us at the gas station.

Message from Finder: I COULD NOT CATCH THE DOG! It's still roaming around out there and it ran away from me before I could catch it. I simply wanted to pass the word along and hope someone nearby has more luck than me catching it.
It was friendly and almost came right up to me, then got scared and shy and lowered itself to its belly. It may have wanted to play but was too scared, then it ran off.
Description: A small yorkie, maybe like 3-4lbs max. It was small and shaved. It had a purple collar but no tag, with a couple of accessory charms on it.
I couldn't get a picture of the dog. It was friendly and almost came up to me but ran away before I could pick it up. This is the closest image I could find of it. I'm sorry I could not provide more but I hope this helps someone out there.
I think it was a female, but couldn't get a closer look.

Leo loving life with his new little hoomans!!!
UPDATE 2: Here’s the latest response from Norwalk Police regarding the investigation and why the dog is back with her owners: “Initially, the Norwalk Animal Control Officer had seized the beagle for safety, pending the outcome of an investigation. The Norwalk Police Department consulted with the Connecticut State’s Attorney’s Officer regarding the incident. Investigators were advised that the dog must be returned to the owner during the course of this thorough investigation. It should be noted that both Norwalk Animal Control Officer and Wilton Animal Control Officer have remained in contact, and a welfare check has been done on the beagle. The beagle is in good condition.”
———
UPDATE: Norwalk police emailed over the weekend to say the dog is back with her owners, BUT the investigation remains open and active. No details were given despite me asking if they believe the dog was taken from the owners and someone else did this. I’m out of town for a few days but promise to follow up when I return.

NORWALK ANIMAL CRUELTY INVESTIGATION: This Beagle was dangled upside down from the window of a moving car and then thrown into the next lane of busy traffic. It happened on Connecticut Avenue in Norwalk by the Home Depot intersection around 2pm Tueday. Police say a witness in another car immediately blocked traffic, saved the dog, and called 911. We're told this little girl is physically okay, but obviously traumatized. You can see how scared she looks here with her tail between her legs. Police need your help to find the person or people responsible. If you saw or know anything, please call Norwalk Police at 203-854-3000.
