HUGE shout out to West End Body Shop on W. Leonard and its owner Gavin. With 45 kids enrolled in our summer program, our 15-passenger needed some significant body work done on very short notice. They moved things around, stayed late and did an incredible job at a more-than reasonable cost to make sure it was safe, looked good, ready to go. Can't highly recommend them enough!

The Other Way will be closed on Wednesday, June 19 in celebration of Juneteenth. Juneteenth is a federal holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans. Praise God for his liberating Work!

Mobile GR published a letter stating that they will NOT be moving forward with paid permit parking on the West Side at this time! Thank you to everyone who showed up to the meeting and made their voice heard!

We thank all of our great neighbors, and the other neighborhoods of the city, who turned out for the Residential Parking Permit (RPP) meeting, sent letters in good numbers and expressed your views about the proposed program. Per Mobile GR’s letter , "Your voices have been heard, and we value your input immensely”. As a result, Mobile GR will NOT be advancing the proposed new residential parking permit zone at this time.

This Saturday is the Stamp Out Hunger postal food drive! Leave a bag of nonperishable food by your mailbox, and your postal worker will collect it and deliver it to a local food pantry! If you live on the West Side south of Leonard, your donation will come to us!

Este sábado es la colecta de alimentos "Stamp Out Hunger," ¡manejado por el sistema postal! Simplemente hay que dejar una bolsa de comida no perecedera, al lado de su buzón de correo, y ¡un cartero la llevará a una despensa de comida local! We had a (rare) quiet moment today and took advantage of it to enjoy Cecibel's homemade "tamales pizques." These are tamales that are traditional all the way from the south part of Mexico to Colombia. We got to try two different types of tamales in two days thanks to the abundant talents of our community members!

Hoy ocurrió un (raro) momento tranquilo, y lo aprovechamos para disfrutar de los tamales pizques de Cecibel. Los tamales pizques son tradicionales en todo el área del sur de Mexico, hasta Colombia. ¡Tuvimos el suerte de probar dos estilos de tamal en dos días, gracias a los talentos abundantes de nuestra comunidad!

Due to the poor weather, the Humane Society of West Michigan's Microchip Clinic will be rescheduled to NEXT Tuesday (May 14th) from 4 pm 6 pm. It will still take place in the green space outside the pantry, at 710 Fulton Street West!
