We are in the business of character development around here. These girls rocked it today! Chapel Loop was GORGEOUS! The Lord held the rain off for the most part. We will post some videos later so you can hear the sounds of joy jumping in the lake.
Our theme verse this summer has been Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not for I am with you. Be not dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you I will help you and I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” We lived that out today. We did a really hard and sometimes scary thing (those cliffs are intimidating) but God sustained us!

Yesterday a kid handed us this, half of his life’s savings, and said “Here I want to donate this to UICM”
Thank you Jesus for child like faith and for those who give so much even if they have so little. Thank you all for your sacrificial giving that keeps UICM running ❤️
Our monthly newsletter went out today! If you want to start receiving those shoot us a DM with your email. They are beautiful recaps of what God has done each month!
This week was one of the best weeks of the summer: Surf Camp. For three days this week the kids got to surf, mountain bike, and Rockwall climb! All with the message that God will help you do big scary things ❤️ we are so thankful to The ARC Project Michigan for inviting us again this year. Their staff and volunteers are absolutely amazing!!
One thing that never made it to Facebook: the Barry County Fair! This was one of my favorite parts of July. Over the course of the week we were able to take over 30 kids. Some of them had never been up close with pigs, cows, and sheep. Most if them truly believed brown cows made chocolate milk. All of them were amazed by how loud a donkey actually is 😂
I (Becca) am a country girl at heart and it was a treat to get to show them one of my highlights from childhood ❤️
It was a hot one but we still had tons of fun! Thanks Papa Johns for making this dinner possible 😁

We are thrilled we got to serve at Grandville Avenue Arts & Humanities today! This is an awesome organization that has been so generous with us this past year. They hosted both Boys Night and Kiddie Korner plus they offer a great spot for our tutors to meet!
What a sweet sweet day of serving our community.
Thank you Kids' Food Basket for letting us jump in at your awesome farm!
❤️❤️❤️
Yesterday we served at Exalta Health, spent a few hours playing in the neighborhood park with some kids, and then cleaned out our storage! In the evening the teens got an “Urban Experience.” It included riding a city bus, praying over local schools, and shopping in the local corner store. Our goal with this activity is to teach compassion and understanding through experience.
We have also spent so much time in prayer and worship. Praying for Grand Rapids, the ministries we are serving with, and the Black Hills ❤️
Be praying for the kids today as we have another round of VBS and a community dinner!
“I don’t have a pen so I’ve just been saying my prayers into my prayer jar and then closing it” 🥹
Thank you Jesus for a sweet little girl who is learning to pray!

Saturday also marked the start of Guts to Serve which is our local mission trip. Be praying for the teens who have committed to serving in Grand Rapids this week. Tonight is their first night leading VBS for the Black Hills!
When one of our pivotal leaders is competing in the Demolition Derby at the Barry County Expo Center/Barry County Fair we of course need to take a group of boys out to watch!
Thank you Berkley Hills Church for hosting such an awesome block party. The kids had a blast!
What a beautiful night spent celebrating Joyce! A huge thank you to everyone who came out ❤️
For those of you who don’t know the story: when Joyce lived in the Black Hills one year for Christmas she put in big letters “Hope for all nations” on the outside of her house. She never took them down in fact they are still up even with new owners in the house. It felt so fitting to make her a sign to bring with her wherever she goes because wherever she is she will still proclaim that Jesus is Hope for all nations!! And we will continue to declare alongside Joyce in the Black Hills that Jesus is hope for all nations!
