City of Green Seeks Citizens’ Input on Making Park Facilities More Accessible
Green, OH – The City of Green is working to make its programs, parks, and facilities more inclusive and accessible to people with disabilities. This process began in 2020, following the recommendation of the Parks Division Master Plan consultant; and again in 2023 with City Council approval, by contracting with Skulski Consulting LLC to perform an ADA assessment of our parks, programs, and policies. The assessment resulted in recommendations and a proposed action plan that addresses the needs of those with disabilities visiting our parks and participating in our programs.
“It is incredibly important for our city to invest resources into making our parks and facilities inclusive for everyone. City facilities bring people together and create community where everyone feels welcome and able to enjoy the spaces. Reviewing and taking steps to improve our ADA accessibility is just the right thing to do,” said Mayor Rocco Yeargin
The next step in making our city more accessible is to gather input from people with disabilities, family members, and disability advocacy organizations. We want to know how can the city offer programs, services, and facilities that are more inclusive and accessible to people with disabilities? Interested individuals are invited to attend one of two scheduled public listening sessions:

ADA Public Input Session

The program will begin with a short presentation of the findings by our consultant. This presentation will be live streamed and recorded during the Thursday, July 18 event for those unable to attend in person. A sign language interpreter will be present.
