Traveling with pelvic pain😞 Here are some tips to make your journey more comfortable:
1. Plan ahead: Research rest stops and accessible bathrooms along your route.
2. Pack strategically: Bring supportive pillows or cushions for long periods of sitting.
3. Stay hydrated: Proper hydration can help alleviate discomfort (and minimize that pesky travel constipation 💩).
4. Move frequently: Take breaks to stretch and walk around to prevent stiffness.
5. Communicate your needs: Don’t be afraid to ask for accommodations or assistance when needed.
Remember, self-care is key when traveling with pelvic pain. Safe travels! ✈️ 🚘
PS. This post comes on the heels of a recent trip I had to take to Minnesota. I do not have pelvic pain and STILL thought it was so hard to get comfortable. I hope you find these tips helpful🩷
⬇️Comment on any other suggestions you might have the help make traveling a little bit easier!

Pregnancy is a beautiful journey, and staying active plays a crucial role in ensuring a healthy and happy experience for both mom and baby! 🤰💕 Here are some benefits of exercise and physical therapy during pregnancy:
1️⃣ Strengthening: Exercise helps strengthen your muscles, which can support the added weight of pregnancy and prepare your body for labor.
2️⃣ Mood Booster: Physical activity releases endorphins, which can help reduce stress, anxiety, and even alleviate symptoms of depression during pregnancy.
3️⃣ Better Sleep: Regular exercise can promote better sleep quality, which can be challenging for many expectant mothers.
4️⃣ Pain Relief: Physical therapy techniques can address common pregnancy-related discomforts such as back pain, pelvic pain, and joint stiffness.
5️⃣ Preparation for Labor: Building endurance and strength through exercise can help prepare your body for the physical demands of labor and delivery.

⭐️Here are some helpful tips!
- We all know this… Drink more water!
- Try to increase your fiber intake. When we are really mindful of this, we often realize that we are not getting enough, or a variety of fiber in our diet.
- Magnesium can be a powerful supplement. I love
- It can be helpful to perform colonic, or abdominal massage to help get things moving.
- Never ignore the urge to p**p. If you gotta go… Go! The colon is a transit unit, not a storage unit. So get that poo out of there💩

Happy Thanksgiving to you all 🦃
As we approach a season of increased consumption of all things yummy and fun we wanted to give you a friendly reminder of the common things that may cause bladder irritation which can result in increased frequency and urgency or urination.
Some big ticket irritants are:
🍷Alcohol
☕️Caffeinated beverages
🥤Carbonated beverages
🧁Refined sugars/artificial sweeteners
🍊Acidic fruits/veggies
Now, this doesn’t mean avoid all of these things (because let’s face it, they are all SO good!) BUT we can enjoy them in moderation. We also like to suggest having a glass of water before and after an irritating substance to help flush out your bladder and keep it happy. A happy bladder equals a happy holiday season!

What is an Ohnut?🤓
An Ohnut is a bumper for your partner to place at the base of their p***s in order to reduce the length and help with pain during s*xual in*******se. 🤩 It can be a helpful tool in order to decrease pressure and improve pleasure, while we work through your pelvic floor dysfunction! 🍾
There are lots of reasons someone might have pelvic pain and use this: endometriosis, prolapse, menopause, interstitial cystitis, pelvic cancer, trauma, postpartum, and more. There are lots of tools to meet your pelvic floor where it is while coming to pelvic floor therapy.
What questions do you have about the ohnut? 🤓

Why does Restore have a gym?
Because floor therapy is more than kegels and breathing! The pelvic floor plays a role in urinary, bowel, and s*xual function as well as posture and stability. It works with other structures to transfer load and manage pressure.
Today we will be in the gym addressing: hip strengthening, running with leakage, postpartum return to exercise, pelvic pain, and strengthening during pregnancy.
Can you spot what equipment have you used with your pelvic floor therapist?
Love partnering with our community!

Did you know that jaw pain and pelvic floor dysfunction often exist together?
TMD (temporomandibular disease) is an umbrella term defined as a group of conditions that cause dysfunction and discomfort in jaw muscles, TMJ (temporomandibular joint), and related structures.
Research literature is now drawing connections between postural dysfunction and TMJ through the context of biokinematic chains. What’s this all mean and why do we care?
How you hold your jaw and head links directly to your spine’s curvature and postural shifts that lead to how you hold your pelvis. Research shows the importance of not only treating TMD but the correlating posture to correct dysfunction and vice versa.
While you may be coming to Restore for pelvic floor therapy, know we care about treating the whole person — it’s all connected!

Why we do it?
Our goal is to eliminate the stigma surrounding pelvic floor disorders, as well as facilitate healing in patients of all genders and ages with complaints of bowel, bladder, s*xual dysfunction, or pelvic pain.
