Each year at Foothills Gymnastics and Cheer Center we do a Christmas project. We LOVE giving back to our surrounding community. This year we selected Safe Harbor Holiday Project. Safe Harbor is a private 501c non-profit organization that offers a continuum of services for survivors of domestic violence and their children in Greenville, Anderson, Pickens and Oconee Counties.
Here is a list of items needed for Teens and Adults at Safe Harbor.
The most frequently overlooked group is for the adults and teens.
· Writing supplies: notebooks, journals, pens, stamps
· Fashion accessories: jewelry, purses, wallets
· Book lights, flash drives
· Slippers and flip-flops
· Ear buds and phone chargers
· Curling irons, flat irons, and blow dryers
· Camera, walkie-talkie, portable radio, portable DVD player with movies, mp3 player with earbuds, portable video games, and phone charger
· Watch, jewelry, hair accessories, makeup, lotions
· Pajamas, hoodies, jackets, underwear, socks
· Art and crafts supplies
· Makeup, nail polish, body lotions, cologne
· Backpack, duffle bag, tote bag, wallet, purse
· Jewelry and fashion accessories
· Every age group including adults can utilize underwear, socks, winter jackets, robes, and pajamas of all sizes.

Did you know that REP trains facilitators to talk to students about dating violence? REP can train you how to talk to students about healthy and unhealthy relationships, the warning signs of relationship abuse, develop skills to keep relationships healthy, and bystander intervention. This year, our REP Team and their trained facilitators have educated 1,242 students about dating violence. In just two short months, our six trained facilitators have held 39 presentations and reached 455 students. Way to go!

Did you know that Safe Harbor helps clients with housing? Well, we do! We help our clients with rent, security deposits, application fees, and utilities, and have two different housing programs: Housing Assistance and Rapid Rehousing. We currently have 53 people in our housing programs, including clients and their children. 🏘️

In 2023 our Family Advocates have provided a whopping 1,767 hours of advocacy services! This number includes:
- 845 hours in Greenville County
- 498 hours in Anderson County
- 424 hours in Oconee County

Thank you Julie Valentine Center for inviting us to your When Faith Hurts conference! Our Director of Prevention, Anna, spoke about REP and the power of prevention, highlighting the different ways for students to learn about dating violence--and how to avoid it.
So far this year, our Counseling Team has provided 2,350 hours of counseling! This includes:
- 2,079 hours in Greenville County
- 124 hours in Oconee County
- 120 hours in Anderson County
- 27 hours in Pickens County

Thank you to all who attended our Parent REP training with Greenville County Alternative Schools! The Relationship Education Project (REP) is Safe Harbor's outreach and prevention program to educate parents, students, and teachers about teen dating violence and healthy relationships. 62 people attended this recent Parent REP Lunch and Learn, completely smashing our attendance record from last semester!
A huge thank you to Marie McDonald, the Family and Services Coordinator at the Greenville Alternative Schools. Marie was trained in the REP Program last semester and has been an awesome supporter of Safe Harbor's work and an amazing advocate for the students and families she serves.
