The Margaret Linder Southern Endowment Fund Committee gathered together this week at the Community Foundation. The committee heard updates from past grant recipients, PMAC and Meyer Center for Special Children. Thank you to our volunteers who serve on this committee. We appreciate your knowledge and expertise!

Margaret Linder Southern passed away in October 2012 and left an $8.4 million bequest to the Community Foundation to establish an endowment fund. CFG carries out her wishes by making annual distributions from her endowment fund to benefit the Greenville Humane Society and organizations that benefit or provide services for early childhood education and special education for children and youth. Greenville Theatre is presenting its 99th season this fall! Producing Artistic Director Max Quinlan says “Our theater is unique because our seasons are designed to make sure there is truly something for everyone. Art should not be exclusive, and Greenville Theatre is committed to telling diverse stories for all people to enjoy and connect with.”

Giving Matters: Project Hope Foundation plans new facilities to expand reach 06/27/2024

Project Hope Foundation, Inc. is providing life-changing services across the Upstate to children, youth, and adults on the autism spectrum. Read this week’s story for an update on Project Hope’s facilities and how they plan to expand their reach!

Project Hope’s 4th Annual Ride for Autism event is on August 17th where you can purchase shirts from the “Printed By Hope” T-shirt printing business (one of their adult services program). Community Foundation of Greenville is proud to support Project Hope!

Local News in Philanthropy: The 2024 Fluor Corporation Golf for Greenville charity golf tournament raised $775,000! See Fluor’s post below to see the four local nonprofits that will receive grants from this year’s tournament. We are happy to administer the Fluor Golf for Greenville Fund at the Community Foundation of Greenville.

The 2024 Golf for Greenville charity golf tournament raised a record-breaking $775,000 thanks to the support and generosity of our sponsors, participants and volunteers.

Beneficiaries of this year's tournament include Meals on Wheels of Greenville, Roper Mountain Science Center, Center for Developmental Services and Emmanuel’s Hammer – all organizations that embody our commitment to building a better world through serving the local community.

Since 1990, the employee-led Golf for Greenville initiative has raised more than $8.1 million to support community organizations in the Upstate of South Carolina.

On May 7th Gateway House, Inc. hosted its first Prelude Luncheon and Community Foundation of Greenville was honored to be the event sponsor. This event was a special way to kick off and share the message of the importance of mental health and wellbeing. We heard personal stories from Gateway members and guest speaker, Mimi Wyche.
