How To Stop Boys From Becoming 'Me Too' Perpetrators A new study on teaching middle schoolers about s*xual violence and dating abuse yields interesting clues.

Su***de rates in girls are rising, study finds, especially in those age 10 to 14 06/07/2019

"We know that certain societal rules and expectations for women can be associated with higher rates of mental health issues and su***de rates," said Dr. Barbara Robles-Ramamurthy, child and adolescent psychiatrist at the Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio, who was not involved in the study. "Then you add a possible biological component -- hormones -- and a genetic predisposition."

Say hi to Matt 👋👋👋 You may have already met him but here’s more...

Hey all! I'm Matt - one of the newest additions to our spectacular REP team here at Safe Harbor! For the next few months I will be working alongside the REP team to develop a mentorship program for adolescents who enter our relief shelters. I'm delighted to be a part of this passionate team of workers that you all know and love. I have also greatly enjoyed my time getting to know survivors and staff at the Greenville Shelter - it is truly a blessing to be a part of both teams. A little about myself - in my spare time I love being outdoors, adventuring with new friends, or playing a game of ultimate frisbee with whoever is willing. I grew up in Maryland, so I'm new to this area, but I must say: I love it here!

Texas teens' relationship 'was just so toxic.' It ended in murder-su***de, police say 04/26/2018

As Clarissa Riojas, 18, finished up her senior year at Highlands High School in San Antonio, her friends urged her to get out of the abusive relationship she was trying to salvage.

"I told her all the time," Riojas' friend Adrean Coy, 19, told the San Antonio Express-News. "You're just barely about to graduate high school. You don't need to be worried about this. You can always find someone else."

Finally, last week, she listened. And her life was cut short for it, according to police.

RIP Clarissa ❤️ Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family, friends, and classmates.
