Hi! I came to Myrtle Beach this weekend to be part of inaugural The Palmetto Party. Because of that, we’re a lil short staffed between both locations.
So tomorrow, 8/17, MIDTOWN will open at 11am for lunch. Woodside is regular hours so go have breakfast there. Thank you for being cool about it. I cannot believe I get to travel to do the things I love. What a life, what a blessing. ❤️

Sometimes I let snarky comments get to me. Even if I don’t read them on social media, I hear things. People will say crazy things just so they can be part of the discussion. So yeah, I don’t roll out my own tortillas. Instead, I opt to build connections with local 🇲🇽 vendors whose livelihood is dependent on making them. I don’t bake my own bread. Because I’d rather support the local 🇲🇽 vendors on White Horse Road who are committed to bringing us their freshly baked telera 3x a week. I call, they answer & they show up QUICKLY. They’re grateful for the business, just like we’re grateful for their quality. Two locations of an independent restaurant brand that come with second hand equipment because we don’t have someone who is writing us blank checks isn’t easy. But we have passion, we have quick wit & we do not give up.
Just the way that y’all supported me when I was on a folding table & using electric griddles at whatever place would let me in - I’m gonna support my people. We are incredibly blessed to get the kind of media attention that we do, and that’s not lost on me. Maybe I don’t make my own bread or tortillas from scratch, but Axel Panadería & Guanajuato Tortilleria on White Horse Road does and I hope you go check them out.

the fact that I get to speak these kids who are turning into young adults, 2 years in a row, is such a blessing. thank you to for the opportunity to speak to a group of Latinx kids who remind me that we are only as good as the generations that come after us.
One of the best things we ever did was add a freshly fried corn tortilla to our taco salads. Taco bowls confuse me. What happens if I’m just eating the chip part and then everything falls apart??? Idk. I don’t trust it. 🤨

If direct mutual aid is your thing, we could totally use some travel sized toiletries for our neighbors and community members in need at Comal 864 Woodside. The sunscreen & reusable water bottle thing has me incredibly worried cause it’s super hot outside and a lot of times, our neighbors are exposed to the elements. 😫
Bring them by during operating hours and we’ll help distribute them. If the Midtown location is closer for you, bring them by and I’ll take them over to Woodside.
Also, gotta figure out how to do something helpful at the Midtown location, but I’ll figure that out over sweaty kitchen nights this summer. 😆

Greenville Breakfast Burrito
A taco is a taco, a burrito is a burrito. If you tuck & fold in the sides of your tortilla - it’s a burrito. Ours is stuffed with 3 eggs, house recipe refried beans, crispy fried potatoes, chihuahua cheese, pico de gallo, freshly made guacamole & your protein of choice wrapped up in a 14” flour tortilla. She commands attention. Breakfast is served weekdays from 8-11, and on Saturday from 9-12ish.
Closed 6/3 & 6/4 for some much needed AC upgrade. See you Wednesday at 8AM!

We’ve served a few graduates this season and it always makes me internally emotional when I go set up. Like the beaming faces of the parents who are watching their once diaper wearing babies grow up and head out into the world, the smiles of the kids who are finally done with high school and excited to start a new adventure but don’t really know what the next step holds. In the midst of the plastic tops cracking off the fruit trays, and the serving utensils and napkins being uniformly put out (because that is a must), I think - what a human moment. To be proud of what you’ve accomplished, to be nervous about what’s to come, but mostly - to take a second and celebrate your achievements with the people that love you. So cool. Congrats grads! 🎓
Also yes, we cater. Simple stuff, because luxury catering isn’t in my wheelhouse yet. But we cater and we pour love into our products because energy matters. ⚡️❤️

Permits are done, people are being hired and trained, big equipment has been purchased and installed… now we just need to get the final things done. Money for our sign change, and to fill up the kitchen. We have some INCREDIBLE talent joining me to open this second kitchen.
