Another week has flown by. Another crazy week.
We are still short on our final estimate amount but we are just amazed at the support our girl is getting!!!
So another Friday is for Wilhelmina as we are counting down the days to her surgery.

Over the past 9 years we’ve taken in dozens of seniors who lived out their lives instead of being euthanized at the shelter simply because they are old.
In the past 3 days we’ve had two of our long time sanctuary seniors pass away peacefully.
Stella came to us five years ago at age 12 after being owner surrendered to a local vet office, completely hairless and in terrible condition.
Toby was Surrendered to a local shelter at age 12-13 by his owner to be euthanized. The shelter refused and we took him in. He was absolutely disgusting, matted, every tooth in his mouth was completely rotten and he was blind.
Both of these precious dogs have lived, been loved, and had every single thing they could ever want or need for the past 5 years. This week they both decided it was time to get their wings and head to The Rainbow Age at the ripe old ages of 17 and 18.
The house seems quieter without them.
Their little beds empty now.
They are missed.
But I am thankful for the 5 golden years I had with them.

Meet Sunday!

Sunday has been with us since March and the DRASTIC change in her reminds us why we do what we do. When she first arrived humans were enemy #1, and she was TERRIFIED of her new foster mom. With weeks and weeks of patience and allowing Sunday to decompress in her new home, she started to become more outgoing, especially with her dog siblings.

This is Sunday today! So happy in her home and LOVES LOVES LOVES other dogs. Sunday has never met a dog she didn't love or didn't love her! If you someone looking to "get your dog a dog", Sunday is literally the perfect dog for you.

Adopters should be prepared for Sunday to love their dogs first and then learn to love them. She regularly gives her foster mom kisses, seeks her out for attention, and loves to show her all her toys! It wasn't always that way though, adopters NEED to be patient and understand it will take some time for sweet girl to show you all her fun colors!

She is about 45 pounds and 8 months old. Potty trained, kennel trained, and while she is scared in the car she is an excellent rider!

First I just want to say how BLOWN AWAY I am at the outpour of support for our girl, Wilhelmina, and for our anniversary.

Rescue is hard.
Point blank.

Having this amazing community backing us up on these hardest medical cases… well, it means the WORLD to us. To me.

I am nervous as hell for this surgery.
But I also know without a doubt that she has to have it. And she’s going to have the best care like I promised her.

Second, I want to personally invite everyone out to our 9 Year Anniversary Party on September 15. I want to see all the faces we have saved, all the Wilhelmina’s that we gave second chances to.
I also want to invite you out this coming Thursday for our Volunteer Happy Hour!

Border Collie enthusiasts! This one is for you!

Meet Panda. This dude has been waiting for his forever family for a long, long time. Really his entire life. He's an 8 month old BC mix, with the brains and speed to match.
Panda is extremely snuggly, and will quite literally melt into your lap for naps. He loves to greet you every morning with a cuddle sesh in bed. He's basically a lap dog in a medium package!

Panda is very versatile, and loves going for rides in the car. He's also super friendly and enjoys meeting new people. This means you can go on all sorts of adventures! From hikes in the mountains, to boat days, Petsmart errands and lunch dates in the city. He just loves to be doing things with his favorite people. At 23ish lbs, this lightweight is easy to transport.
One of Panda’s favorite hobbies is wrassling with his foster siblings, and he would be so tickled to have another high energy pup to play with. Plus, you won't have to burn quite so many calories if your dog keeps him occupied during the workday! He is wonderful with dogs, cats and kids of all ages.Other hobbies include chewing toys, hunting down flies in your house, studying the HVAC when it runs and seeking out all the sunspots to lounge in.

Just point and shoot and this guy will run right into his crate, and he's fully leash/potty trained too.

Panda has so much potential to do just about anything! His big brain can be filled with cool tricks, his athleticism can turn into an agility hobby, and his sweet as pie nature can provide you with an extremely loyal, loving companion.

We've said it before and we will say it again today....rescue is WILD!!!!

Bijoux came to us 3 weeks ago and was a literal skeleton. Our job was to keep her stable, provide all the food she could ever want, and allow all her physical wounds to heal.

WELL...Bijoux decided to surprise us all this morning with 6 beautiful puppies! If this was going to happen, we are happy it happened in one of our safe and loving foster homes. She was SKIN and BONES!! We are completely shocked!

Boom Baby! It's Kuzco!

This rascal is an 8 month old spaniel mix. He's been waiting for his forever home for a while now, and can't figure out what the problem is!

Kuzco is such a sweet, funny and dapper dude. He enjoys showing up to adoption events sporting his favorite tropical print shirt, and is easily recognizable by his adorable black patch.

He is crate trained and working on his leash manners, he's improving with every walk! Kuzco does have some room to grow with his potty training, it seems to be the last hurdle he needs help overcoming before he is certified gold. He knows to go outside, and just needs some more guidance so he takes the time to go potty properly. Typical toddler. He's just so happy to be loved and spreading his infectious joy that he gets distracted!

Kuzco 's favorite pastime aside from playing, meeting people and snuggles is FOOD! This guy is a total foodie, and would love nothing more than to go on lunch dates with you!!

Y'all!!
We've got snuggle potatoes! Evangeline (all blonde) and Ray are two of the cutest little puffs around. They were found as orphans at just one week old. Now at 14 weeks, they have been earning gold stars in basic training and learning how to dog.

They are already crate masters, potty trained and do well with their leash skills. Both even know "sit" too! These little peas love to cuddle and fill your nostrils with all the puppy breath. When it's not nap time, they romp around the house like little elephants.

Evangeline is a total sweetheart, and loves to greet her people. She's a patio princess, and prefers to not get her feet wet in damp grass, because ew!
Ray is a chill, chunky monkey who is ready to go with the flow. He is always up for a game of tug-o-war!

This firecracker is Tribble, and he is a hoot to hang with. At around one year old, Trib is learning all sorts of things with his foster mom. He has mastered crate and potty training, and is great on the leash (minus a little urge to pull when he gets excited).

Speaking of excitement, Tribble exudes joy and a zest for life. He loves playing with everyone he meets, cats included. His passions include zooming around the yard, coaching you through endless games of fetch and enjoying his favorite treats: ice cubes!

Wow!! We cannot thank our community enough for the incredible generosity and support at the Woofstock event! Well, this girl got some good (and nerve racking) news this week!
called and had a cancellation next week and we said YESSSS!!! So she’s headed in a whole month early for her surgery consultation with the specialist. 🎉 and 😬
We’ve had a rough couple weeks, we’ve lost 5 dogs to crazy circumstances out of our control.
So Sending Wilhelmina in for surgery has my nerves all wrecked. But I also know that her life with a 30 POUND TUMOR is no life at all. I made a promise to give her a life, and that’s exactly what we are doing.
Point blank, we HAVE to raise $500 for the appointment on Tuesday or we will have to cancel.
