She was born and raised in California and has recently joined us after working the past three years at Anderson University. It was great seeing some familiar faces on campus yesterday! Graham Malo, Jaya Chandler, Yasmene Clark, Patrick Champion, and Ashley Deliberto, all CCES Class of 2023, participated in our Transitions to College Alumni Panel yesterday afternoon. They talked about their experiences in college this year and shared words of advice for our soon-to-be newest alums ๐
Last night was our last Alumni Association meeting of the school year where they presented Head of School, David Padilla, a check for the funds raised (over $20,000). Big thank you to this group and all they do to serve our alumni and school communities ๐

The CCES College Roadshow at the University of South Carolina was a great success! The room was filled with laughter, conversation, and great food, as students caught up with some familiar faces. David Padilla, Father Wallace, Linda Schulz, Matt Jacobsson, and Aaron Whited graciously gave their time to the event. Thank you to all who stopped by - we loved seeing you! ๐

Artist and entrepreneur, Dorothy Shain '08, met Upper School students last week with a warm smile and generous spirit. During assembly, she shared the profound impact of nurturing relationships, embracing opportunities, and embodying the values one preaches. We had so much fun at our Alumni Parent Breakfast this morning! Donuts and chicken biscuits started our day on a high note and we loved reminiscing about how things have changed and how so many things have stayed the same! ๐
Check out our newest reunion spotlight - Kelly Gavron Scoggins '99! Motivated by her experience raising her daughter, Kit, she and her husband opened a branch of Bitty and Beauโs Coffee in Houston, Texas. Bitty and Beauโs Coffee aims to provide employment opportunities, challenge stereotypes, and create a welcoming environment for customers to interact with individuals with disabilities who work at the coffee shop. The cafe, now celebrating its one-year anniversary, has successfully retained all 26 original employees, showing what Kit and people like her can offer the world, one customer at a time. โ๏ธโค๏ธ Link in Bio to read more!
Our Alumni & Parents of Alumni Service Day on Saturday was a great success! We worked up a sweat packing 640 food boxes for seniors facing food insecurity throughout the Upstate. Thereโs no better way to spend a rainy day than serving the Greenville community with our fellow Cavaliers! ๐ค๐
Before our college-aged alumni headed back to school for their spring semester, we invited them to join us on campus for an all faculty and staff lunch last week! Our teachers love seeing their old students and look forward to this event every year. With nearly 30 alumni in attendance from the classes of 2019 to 2023, this year did not disappoint! Thank you to all who came out โ you made your teacherโs day! ๐
We loved seeing everyone at our annual Alumni Christmas Party!โค๏ธ The celebration was one to remember and we are already counting down the days until we get to do it again next year!๐คฉ

The Class of 2018 celebrated their 5-year reunion last week with over 50 of their oldest friends! We had so much fun catching up and loved seeing everyone back together again. Feeling extra thankful for the long-lasting alumni community at CCES๐
In observance of Veterans Day, Jack Sterling '04 spoke to the Upper School this morning about his time as a Navy SEAL and lessons learned during his military career. Congrats to Katie Shaw Howell '92 and Barbara Carter for receiving our 2023 Alumni Service Awards! Katie was awarded the Marguerite Ramage Wyche Alumni Service Award as someone who embodies the CCES value of service to her school and community. Barbara received the Mary B. Roper Distinguished Teacher Award which honors a faculty member who impacts the alumni community and exemplifies a sincere love for the school. We celebrated our 2023 CCES Sports Hall of Fame inductees - Caroline Jennings โ13, Jay Jackson โ05, Sam Outten โ78, and Coach Bobby Austell - last week on campus during Homecoming Week! Congratulations to these Cavaliers on all they have accomplished during their careers and we are thankful for the many ways they continue to impact their communities ๐
