I am Benjamin Franz, DC., the chiropractor at Franz Spinal Care & Nutrition in Greenville, SC. I am on a mission to help patients live their best lives, no matter their age! Ladies, are you in your 40s and 50s and struggling with perimenopause symptoms? You're not alone!
Did you know that diet, exercise, and sleep are key factors in managing perimenopausal symptoms?
Here are some tips to help you feel your best during this phase of life:
🥗 Diet: eating a healthy balanced diet can help alleviate perimenopausal symptoms. Focus on whole-nutrient dense foods like fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats.
🚶♀️ Exercise: regular exercise can help alleviate hot flashes, mood swings, and other perimenopausal symptoms. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate activity most days of the week.
😴 Sleep: getting enough sleep is essential for managing perimenopausal symptoms. Try to establish a regular sleep routine. Going to bed and waking up at the same time each day creating a relaxing sleep environment. Make sure it is free from screens and other distractions.
Remember, perimenopause is a natural part of life, but that doesn't mean you have to suffer. By prioritizing diet, exercise and sleep, you can alleviate your symptoms and feel your best!

One of the dietary changes I tell all my patients to do...
Eat vegetables. 🥦🥕🍅🍆🥑🍠🫑
Benefits:
-Loaded with phytonutrients, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.
-Cleans out the "pipes"
-Lowers cholesterol and more.
While I prefer we eat our vegetables, I know that we are busy and convenience is key for many of us! (🙋♀️)
A quick and easy way to add in more is consuming a vegetable drink.
I am not associated with V8, nor is this a paid ad (🤣) but 1 can gives you an additional 2.5 cups of vegetables. There is also a low sodium option available if needed (I am ok with the sodium amount in this).
I am on the lookout for a cleaner open and drink can, but while I have tried many I was not a fan.
(I do have powdered chocolate vegetable drink but this post is about open and go convience. I'll post my favorite vegetable powder that tastes like chocolate milk next.)

The lemon vinaigrette is yummy on fish. 🐟
I also will use avocado oil instead of EVOO for a milder taste.
I use these also as a marinade.
I put the ingredients in a mason jar, that way I can shake it and pour.
