When workplace violence was on the rise, Intermountain Health St. Mary's Regional Hospital engaged health care workers, patients and their families, visitors, and community members in conversations about the importance of creating a .

When UCHealth found that its nurses were struggling with a high charting burden, it introduced the Virtual Admission Nurse (VAN) program, a virtual health care delivery model to support acute care nurses. VAN nurses do admission documentation for all new admissions and transfers via an iPad while also providing additional patient education regarding fall prevention and isolation precautions. Congratulations to Steven Summer, CHA's CEO and president from 2006-19, who was honored today by the American Hospital Association with its 2024 Board of Trustees Award.
