October marks Substance Abuse Prevention Month, a time for communities to unite as prevention allies. We also recognize individuals in recovery, alongside the children, families, and parents who support them.

Congratulations to Sarah Channell and Lindsay Fetherolf for being selected to speak at the Rocky Mountain Symposium in Denver last week. They presented the data collected from their MOUD/MAT program in Union County, Ohio. Their pilot program demonstrated the efficacy of locking prescription vials (LPVs) in securing medications safely. It successfully concluded that dispensing MAT into LPVs prevents the risk of pediatric overdoses and pilfering. We are thankful for their partnership and continued support.

We are thrilled to announce our involvement in the POWER Collective, a vital initiative in Greenville, South Carolina, dedicated to addressing the opioid crisis head-on. Together, we are committed to making a positive impact on the community.

Campus Safety Awareness Month is coming to a close, but you should encourage your students to practice medication safety year round.
