In the meantime, ALL Animal Shelter posts and notifications will be made through our Guilderland Police Department social media.

Road Closure: Dunnsville Rd from Guilderland Police Department : Nixle Dunnsville Rd is closed from Settles Hill Rd to Becker Rd due to power lines and trees down.
Road Closures Hurst Rd, Kings Rd, Siver Rd from Guilderland Police Department : Nixle Hurst Rd, Kings Rd between Morris and Curry, Siver Rd between Old State and Lydius are closed due to wires down.

The Guilderland Police Department is pleased to announce the following promotions and newly sworn officers who were all sworn in today, June 28, 2024.
Sergeant Matthew Egnor was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.
Officer Matthew McCaffrey was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

Officer Steven Clermont a lateral transfer from the Troy Police Department.
Officer Matthew Iuorno a lateral transfer from the Albany County Sheriff’s Office.
Officer Christian Cooper a lateral transfer from the North Greenbush Police Department.

This week, we recognize the hard work and service of our nation's Law Enforcement personnel.

With prom season quickly approaching, we would like to continue to promote safety and discuss the results of poor decision making with students and young teens.
As a part of Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), the vehicle pictured below has been placed in front of Guilderland High School. The vehicle is used as a visual representation of what destructive decisions can lead to. SADD is an organization whose aim is to prevent accidents from students taking potentially destructive decisions. As always, we wish our students to enjoy the experiences, but be we urge them to be safe while doing so!

Congratulations to our very own Officer Michael Doynow. Officer Doynow was recognized by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and Stop DWI New York with the New York State Governor’s Traffic Committee, for his outstanding dedication and support for his efforts in deterring drunk and impaired driving on New York’s highways in 2023.
Thank you Officer Doynow for your continued hard work and dedication to both traffic and public safety in our town.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the US Marshalls and the officers involved in this horrific tragedy.
Our hearts are heavy tonight for the lives shattered by today's horrific shooting in Charlotte, NC. We mourn the loss of our Deputy and two Task Force Officers. We are grateful for all the support, and we keep the families and colleagues of all officers involved, in our thoughts.

Congratulations to Captain Eric Batchelder on his retirement after 26 years of service to the Town of Guilderland.
On Friday, April 26th, 2024, the Guilderland Police Department along with family, friends and many community members, gathered together to hold a Walk-Out Ceremony for Captain Batchelder.
Members of the police department will miss your leadership, wisdom and laughs that you have provided us over the years. We would like to extend our gratitude for all of Captain's time, tireless effort and dedication to the town of Guilderland and the Guilderland Police Department.
