On September 17, 1943, the original Naval Construction Battalion (NCB) 133 was commissioned at Camp Perry, Williamsburg, Virginia. After seven months training at Davisville, Rhode Island; Gulfport, Mississippi; and Port Hueneme, California, NCB One-Thirty-Three was ready for action. NMCB 133’s Runnin’ Roos🦘 are continuing their redeployment exercise with 24-hour operations. This exercise tests our Seabees on the entire embarkation process for moving equipment to and from an operating theater. They have to clean, inspect, weigh, and palletize all construction equipment and accompanying collateral equipment for mobilization purposes. This exercise ensures that we are able to stay quick as well as capable as we continue to support the Fleet and Navy Expeditionary Combat Command.

As NMCB 133’s Runnin’ Roos🦘 continue our field training exercise, our advance base construction companies are conducting construction and military tactics scenarios at Camp Shelby. They are continuing construction of heavy-timber bunkers, leach fields, and hardened sentry posts while defending their camp from simulated enemy attacks. Continuing to train like we fight allows our Seabees to better support the Fleet and Navy Expeditionary Combat Command across multiple mission sets in a deployed environment.

They are operating tent camps, building hardened sentry posts and heavy timber bunkers, and focusing on general military tactics. This training allows us to better support the fleet and Navy Expeditionary Combat Command anywhere in the world.

Exercises like this encourage interoperability and allow us to better support the Fleet and Navy Expeditionary Combat Command in a deployed environment.

Our Airfield Damage Repair companies is operating out of Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base, New Orleans. They completed camp set up and began planning for their construction operations. This exercise is our certifying evolution for deployment and where we prove our ability to support the fleet and Navy Expeditionary Combat Command around the world.

NMCB 133’s Runnin’ Roos🦘 have been providing crane support to other commands in the area. This week our crane crew traveled to Pensacola, Florida to lift and place a new air conditioning unit for the base gym on Naval Air Station Pensacola. They also conducted a lift to remove two air conditioning units for Navy Information Operational Command, Atlantic on Corry Station. Conducting operations like this allows us to encourage and support interoperability between different Naval units and better support the Fleet and Navy Expeditionary Combat Command.
