Through the end of August to the beginning of this month, a team of determined LUCKY ELEVEN Seabees headed north to Keflavik, Iceland to participate in the Nordic Viking 2024 exercise. Our Bees worked alongside Marine Wing Support Squadron 271 to rapidly assess and repair damaged airfields while simultaneously maintaining the camp that housed the exercise's Navy and Marine participants.
NV24 strengthens interoperability and force readiness between the U.S., Iceland and Allied nations, enabling multi-domain command and control of joint and coalition forces in the defense of Iceland and sea lines of communication in the Greenland, Iceland, United Kingdom (GIUK) gap.
Naval Construction Battalion Center Gulfport has returned to TCCOR 5. All base services have reverted to normal operations.

The Advance Party has returned!
Lucky ELEVEN Seabees from our Advance Party returned from their successful deployment across Europe and Africa. Long-awaited kisses and hugs were exchanged with our Seabee friends and family who welcomed them home to Naval Construction Battalion Center Gulfport.

Last week, our Skipper, CDR Angerman, visited the Lucky ELEVEN Seabees in Ghana, who have been hard at work alongside the USMC's 8th Engineering Support Battalion.
FIX, FLY, FIGHT!
A team of LUCKY ELEVEN Seabees headed out to Ramstein Air Base in Germany last week to take a class on Rapid Airfield Damage Repair led by the USAF's 435th Construction and Training Squadron.
Airfield damage repair is a critical Seabee skill that lets us keep Naval airfields up and running in the aftermath of an enemy attack.

Lucky ELEVEN Construction Electricians here on Naval Station Rota, Spain practice installing electrical systems on a tech trainer site. Tech trainers are a good opportunity for junior Seabees to practice their trade and learn from their senior counterparts.
