How would you define sin?
The way of the Lord is a refuge for the blameless, but it is the ruin of those who do evil. (Proverbs 10:29)
If we don’t use our gifts, we deny Christ. We reject what He’s given by grace, opposing His nature to love others as we give of ourselves. His church falters, and He remains hidden to a lost world. Your gifts must increase, dear one. If you use them, it’s impossible for them not to. This isn’t about your ability. It’s about trusting God’s ability through you. Are you ready to do that and impact the world around you?
Wow, what a thought—that God is actively searching for people He can STRONGLY support! Where will His eyes rest? On those who fully devote their hearts to Him. I’m so thankful for His grace, but let’s allow that grace to move our hearts into deeper devotion. What draws our heart matters. Don’t let lesser loves keep you from experiencing His power.
Sometimes obstacles frustrate our plans but that’s not always a bad thing. Perhaps the Lord has something beautiful to bring out of it. Something you’ve missed or haven’t thought of. Something meant to prosper you, even if momentarily it appears to harm you.
We can’t allow the enemy to isolate us any longer or convince us we’re insignificant. Let Jesus show you who He made you to be and position you in His body. Until we are secure in our own identity and calling, we will always feel threatened by another’s.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: I wonder if some of the stones we throw in Jesus’ name are stones He wouldn’t throw. Are the fights we’re engaged in really His fights? Or are we, perhaps, casting judgment when Jesus would extend grace?
Praise God that throughout history, no matter how far His people strayed, turning their backs on His will and going their own way, He has always preserved for Himself a faithful and believing remnant (Isaiah 37:31). And in moments when all seems lost and His people are hardly recognizable as His, He raises His remnant to stir His people to return to Him again with wholehearted devotion.
When people look at us they’re supposed to see Jesus. What if the reason the world is so ready to remove God from everything is that they don’t like what they see in us? Are we showing the world who Jesus really is?
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
Most of us long to experience God’s presence and power. We just don’t usually choose the path required to get there. What is that path? Psalm 100:4 reveals it plainly. We enter His gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. If we want close proximity to God, we need gratitude.
Your spiritual gifts aren’t for you. They’re not even to serve the lost. God has gifted you with a spiritual gift to serve and equip His body.
Happy Fourth of July!
Jesus did not define Peter by his shortcomings or his failures. He spoke into his life what He desired him to be, and that’s what Peter eventually became. Have you allowed Jesus to raise you to your potential?
No, I don’t own a Lamborghini, haha. If I did, I wouldn’t intentionally exchange it for something of far less value. But isn’t that what we do when we trade what God has made us to be for what the world wants us to be? Why exchange royalty to become paupers when God has intended us for so much more?
God prioritizes bringing His people near. His people, however, don’t share His priorities. We often skip the relationship and focus on seeking the earthly blessings He can provide. We want His gifts more than we want Him. Unfortunately, that’s the same choice the Israelites made. And do you know what happened to them, dear one? They died in the desert outside of their land of promise. They never made it to their earthly blessing because they rejected the means to get there. Oh, that you and I would learn from their mistakes!
We have a tendency to keep rushing on to the next thing, but to what end? Savor the moment you’re in or you’ll miss the joy that’s right in front of you. That’s exactly at the heart of what Jesus said to Martha in Luke 10. She was so anxious and troubled, but she missed the joy of having the Son of God with her in her home, teaching her and speaking to her. What could you and I be missing? Are we sacrificing blessings in the frantic blur of our days?
If you belong to Jesus, He has already freed you from sin’s ultimate consequence. Now He desires to release you from its power!
Jesus’ power provides us with “everything we need for life and godliness.” You, dear one, lack nothing necessary to live a godly life. Divine power resides in you through your knowledge of Jesus Christ, giving you the awesome privilege and ability to participate in His divine nature and escape the corruption of the world.
Fathers, thank you for choosing God in your households and putting Him first. Thank you for your selfless investment into the lives of your children and helping them find Jesus. Knowing Him is everything.
