Dr. Settles-Tidwell is the Vice President for Inclusive Excellence and University Diversity Officer at Sacramento State. She is charged with implementing the Antiracism and Inclusive Campus Plan (AICP) for the university and quickly made her mark by transforming the AICP into an action plan and operationalizing it.
Dr. Rosanna Mucetti serves as Superintendent of Napa Valley Unified School District in Napa, California. Over the past 25 years, Dr. Mucetti has engaged in numerous facets of public education including international and national work with K-12 school districts, charter management organizations, and ministries of education.
Dr. Zoni Boyer, class of 2023, is the organizer of the conference, "Imagining Possible Futures...", the first-ever Afrofuturism Student Conference in San Mateo County. Dr. Rachel Vatannia, class of 2024, is the keynote speaker. For more information, and to register, visit

EdD alum Saleem Gilmore recently spoke at the Hayward Library on African Americans in the arts, and at the Oberlin College and Conservatory as a part of their executive speaker series. He and his 7-year old son have co-authored a coloring book, Before They Were Giants, which includes AI generated images of iconic Black public figures as children, ranging from James Baldwin to Bob Marley. The book is available at many online stores including Amazon, Bookshelf, and Ingram; as well as brick and mortar bookstores such as Marcus Books (Oakland), Barnes and Noble (Emeryville), and Books on B (Hayward).
