We are a Volunteer service that support Veterans with their Long-term care needs

We assist War Era Veterans and their Surviving spouse with the Non-Service connected VA Benefits with Aid and Attendance. This benefit provides a pension for these families that will assist them on staying on private pay and independent for a longer period of time by qualifying them for a pension that can amount up to $2,127 per month.

This time of the year I always think back to all the families that God has giving me the pleasure to assist over the year with the veterans benefits program. When families call to notify me that their parents benefits were awarded there is truly no better feeling in the world. Knowing that my knowledge, time and efforts have, in most cases, changed the financial future for a veteran and/or their spouse is so good for the soul:) so for all of you that I've assisted, I thank you! It's because of you that the drive and desire runs deep inside of me! Your life changing experience is what drives me to continue year in and year out. The best part is most of the work I do with this is on a volunteer basis, which makes it even more awesome. Although I cant fib, a lot of the adult children do become clients of mine through my retirement planning services. Hey, theres nothing wrong with that good old saying " what goes around comes around!" God bless all of you and please have a wonderful Holiday season!

IT NEVER GETS OLD. I've been helping Veterans and their families with Nathan Workman for over 10 years. I just received another call from a family today that their mothers benefits have been awarded! The feeling this gives me inside is better than any paycheck I could ever receive. I am so proud of the hard work our staff does to assure the Veterans families of New England are being taken care of by our Team. This program is so rewarding in itself. It's unexplainable:) God Bless.

Happy Independence Day!


DID YOU KNOW?
On July 4, 1776, the thirteen colonies claimed their independence from England, an event which eventually led to the formation of the United States. Each year on July 4th, also known as Independence Day, Americans celebrate this historic event.

Conflict between the colonies and England was already a year old when the colonies convened a Continental Congress in Philadelphia in the summer of 1776. In a June 7 session in the Pennsylvania State House (later Independence Hall), Richard Henry Lee of Virginia presented a resolution with the famous words: "Resolved: That these United Colonies are, and of right ought to be, free and independent States, that they are absolved from all allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain is, and ought to be, totally dissolved."

Lee's words were the impetus for the drafting of a formal Declaration of Independence, although the resolution was not followed up on immediately. On June 11, consideration of the resolution was postponed by a vote of seven colonies to five, with New York abstaining. However, a Committee of Five was appointed to draft a statement presenting to the world the colonies' case for independence. Members of the Committee included John Adams of Massachusetts, Roger Sherman of Connecticut, Benjamin Franklin of Pennsylvania, Robert R. Livingston of New York and Thomas Jefferson of Virginia. The task of drafting the actual document fell on Jefferson.

On July 1, 1776, the Continental Congress reconvened, and on the following day, the Lee Resolution for independence was adopted by 12 of the 13 colonies, New York not voting. Discussions of Jefferson's Declaration of Independence resulted in some minor changes, but the spirit of the document was unchanged. The process of revision continued through all of July 3 and into the late afternoon of July 4, when the Declaration was officially adopted. Of the 13 colonies, nine voted in favor of the Declaration, two -- Pennsylvania and South Carolina -- voted No, Delaware was undecided and New York abstained. John Hancock, President of the Continental Congress, signed the Declaration of Independence. It is said that John Hancock's signed his name "with a great flourish" so England's "King George can read that without spectacles!"

Today, the original copy of the Declaration is housed in the National Archives in Washington, D.C., and July 4 has been designated a national holiday to commemorate the day the United States laid down its claim to be a free and independent nation.[1]

Dear Jake and Nathan,

We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us receive the Veteran Aid and Attendance benefits for my mother who is at a Memory Care unit in Massachusetts suffering from alzheimers disease. Without your help, we wouldn't have known how to fill out the countless paperwork nor would have had our request expedited so quickly. The benefits were directly deposited to her account and received in 3 months versus 1 year, but more importantly your services were all for FREE. It is truly people like you that are so dedicated in helping veterans and their spouses out at NO COST to the veteran and their live one. You truly are an advocate for ALL VETERANS and their families. We can't imagine those poor veterans/spouses out there that have no family members to help them in this process. With people like you, these veterans and spouses will be taken care of by offsetting the cost of Assisted Living/Memory Care. Again thank you so very much! Our VA accredited attorney, Nathan Workman, and I just had the best conversation about the future of this program. I'll tell you what; we are so optimistic about the Aid and Attendance benefits that is their to create a pension for wartime veterans and their surviving spouses so they may stay on private pay and independent for a longer period of time when facing the high cost of assisted living, in home health care and skilled nursing…. This benefits has the potential to increase a families income by $2,127 per month and it's Federally tax free. Instead of claims taking longer to pay in 2017 they are actually paying in a more efficient time frame then they have in 9 years. As of January 1st of this year we have had 10 families notify us that their claims paid within the 1st month of submission, even before they received their acknowledgment letter, their benefits were already direct deposited…Amazing! This has been unheard of in past years. This year 20% are paying within 2 months and over 50% have been awarded in 90 days..Obviously all retroactive to the date the family applied We are down to 30% actually needing assistance in expediting their claim using our Congressional outlets. We are so excited about the future of this program! WOW… . Over the past 30 days we have been receiving wonderful feedback from claimants regarding processing time by the Pension Management Center in Philadelphia, this is the regional office we use to assist families in processing their claims for benefits.. Since January 1st of this year we've seen such an improvement in the processing time a Veteran/Surviving Spouse has been waiting for their benefits to pay. I've heard from 4 separate claimants that their claims were all paid within 45 days, 1 gentleman less than 30 days and 1 lady just 2 months. Great Job Pension Center Philadelphia! Keep up the great work!

Dear Jacob Lowrey,

I want start by thanking you for supporting and caring for my family when we were most vulnerable. Watching my father get sick was hard, and because of your kindness and due diligence you took the burden of a very complicated process off of our shoulders and we are extremely grateful.
Coming all the way to Sunrise to help us fill out the paperwork was such an act of kindness. It gave me such comfort that you were so responsive when we had questions and concerns regarding this important process. I sought out support from Seth Moulton's office and it was very hard to get someone to return my calls and once again, I reached out to you when my father passed and sure enough you were present, patient and thorough.
Watching the people you love reach the end of life is the hardest thing we have to do. Your professionalism and support tells that me you understand the toll that journey takes on a family, and that is why it means the most that your support remained so consistent during this time. Thank you.

Just an FYI for those of you that have filed claims recently. Since the change in our administration claims seem to be paying faster. As most of you are aware we assist in performing Congressional Inquiries if the claimant isn't awarded after 90 days. The percentage of claims that required this from 2013-2016 was about 75%. As of Jan. 2017 this % has dropped to 50%, which is wonderful news. So just remember if you have a claim being processed as of today and 90 days have gone by w/o an award being paid, then reach out to me and we can assist in expediting the process. We finally received 9 months of retroactive compensation from the Veterans for my mother. Your help and patience throughout this process was appreciated by my entire family. Because of this extra money, my mother will be able to stay where she is for a longer period of time. Thank you!

She has already received a lump sum for the pro rated amount.
