10 day Body Renovation Retreat

Despite numerous campaigns encouraging kindness, we continue to treat our bodies, animals, land, and sea with unkindness. The more I learn and observe, the more I am awakened to the cruelty driven by human selfishness and greed. The only way to bring about change is through self-awareness and being the change I wish to see in the world.

Day 7 and 8
10 Days Body Renovation

In addition to fascia blasting, focusing on posture, and retraining Vivien’s right glute and knee to contract and stabilize, she has been visiting Dr. Linzner, one of the top chiropractors at True North.

Vivien's knee has been feeling so good that she has started walking before breakfast and after every meal. Yesterday, we walked a total of 8.5 miles, and today we covered 7 miles.

During our walks, we brainstorm action plans and new changes to keep the momentum going. One insight she had was to purge, redesign, and decorate her bedroom, which also serves as her office. This will give her a fresh start and reduce stress caused by clutter.

We watched two TED Talk videos on YouTube that inspired her with new possibilities.

Day 6
10 Days Body Renovation

The day started with a 2-mile walk at 7 am, followed by breakfast at 8 am.

Today is re-feeding for Vivien after a four day juice fest. She is super excited to eat her first meal which was a nectarine, her favorite fruit!

We walked another mile at 8:40 am before engaging in core education and exercise at 9:15 am.

At 10 am, instead of sitting in the dining hall, we watched a cooking class demo on True North Live TV in my room while I fascia blasted Vivien’s hips and stomach.

After lunch we walked another mile. At 2 pm, we watched a lecture on the Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry of Fasting on True North Live TV in my room while I fascia blast Vivien’s feet as she drifted in and out of sleep.

By 3 pm, we were researching the perfect juicer and Vivien found one on Amazon. Dinner was at 5 pm, followed by another mile walk at 5:45 pm.

The day concluded at 6:30 pm with the documentary "Game Changer," which I highly recommend—watching it for the second time was even more impactful.

I love this 4 rule of life from Bruce Lee:
1. Research your own experience.
2. Absorb what is useful.
3. Reject what is useless.
4. Add what is specifically your own.

Day 4 & 5
10 Days Body Renovation Retreat.

Yesterday, we focused extensively on posture and how to assess it using the wall. We covered the alignment of the feet, knees, hips, spine, shoulders, and head.

Afterward, I fascia blasted Vivien’s calves, shins, and feet while we watched the documentary "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead."

She ready enjoy and appreciate it since she is currently juice fasting.

Vivien is feeling good on her third day of her juice fast and has decided to extend it for one more day before re-feeding.

Today, we spent three hours on posture, rolling, and stretching. We delved deeply into self-awareness and understanding the different sensations experienced during these activities.

We then watched "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead 2" while she fascia blasted her hands and arms.

Over the past two days, we have walked in the morning, afternoon, and evening. Vivien's knees have been responding well to the fascia treatment, posture/alignment training, and mindful movement during walking.

Day 3 & 4
10 Days Body Renovation Retreat.

Yesterday just flew by. We started our day with a 7 am walk, focusing on a mindful walking gait and frequently stopping to stretch our hips, knees, and calves.

Vivien is on her first day of a juice fast and feeling good, while I had my SOS-free plant-based breakfast.

After breakfast, I showed Vivien how to roll out her lower back as she was experiencing some tightness and pulling. Since we were attending a lecture and would be sitting for a while, I wanted to prepare her body and have the knowledge for life. After 30 minutes of rolling her upper and mid-back, she felt a 50% reduction in discomfort.

Then we headed to a lecture on inflammation and how processed food affects cellular health.

After lunchtime, we spent 45 minutes rolling out her lower back and sacrum. Her back felt completely normal, and the tightness disappeared!

I decided to have Vivien watch the Netflix documentary "Hack Your Health" while we fascia blasted her feet. Knowledge of micro biome plays a huge role of inflammation.

We took a light walk after dinner and ended the evening with a Tai Chi class.

Today is Vivien’s second day of the juice fast. I used a fascia blaster on her back while she worked on her chest, and we watched another documentary "Cowspiracy.” It was really informative and eye opening. Did you know that it takes 45 gallon of water to produce 1 pound of beef? It really encourages me more to rethink my dietary choices and consider the impact they have on the planet. Everyone need to watch this documentary.

**Day 1 - Body Renovation Retreat**

I'm so happy to be back at True North Health Center for the next 10 days with my client Vivien.

We arrived at 6:30 PM last night and had a light salad for dinner. I fascia blasted Vivien’s neck and shoulders before we headed to bed.

This morning, we went for an hour walk at 7 AM, followed by breakfast at 8 AM. After another short walk around the neighborhood, we did 45 minutes of deep tissue rolling on the upper body, and then attended a gentle yoga class in the courtyard.

We met with the concierge, made chiropractic appointments for the week, and then it was lunch at noon.

Vivien met with Dr. Csilla Veress, ND LAc, who recommended a juice fast instead of a water fast for her.

In the afternoon, we rolled out Vivien’s hips and thighs for 45 minutes before attending a reflexology lecture. I then fascia blasted Vivien’s lower body for 2 hours. Dinner time came for me at 5 pm as Vivien started her juice fast.

We took a short walk afterward before our last stretching class at 6:30 PM.

It was a full day, and time just flew by.

Heading to bed now to get a good night’s sleep and be ready for Day 2!
