U.S. men win volleyball bronze medal at the Paris Olympics, beating Italy in straight sets 08/10/2024

The U.S. wins the bronze for men's volleyball. Way to go Team USA, which included Erik Shoji ’08 and Micah Ma‘a ’15.

U.S. men win volleyball bronze medal at the Paris Olympics, beating Italy in straight sets Four-time U.S. Olympians Matt Anderson and David Smith are medalists once more. The Americans are taking home men’s volleyball hardware from the Paris Olympics, outlasting Italy in a wild, back-and-forth battle for bronze.

Chris Schmicker ‘04, Brand Marketing Director at Shopify is co-hosting the event with Meli James ‘96, co-founder of Mana Up. Fellow alumni Meleana Estes ‘97 will be talking about her book “Lei Aloha” and making lei. The event will feature 40+ local brands and 23+ local entrepreneurs who will be in person doing activations and tastings. We would love to see you there! Meet Gooch, the 'morale booster' and chef feeding Hōkūleʻa's crew through California Hōkūleʻa and her crew departed Ventura, California, Tuesday on their way to Marina del Rey. While every crew member played a crucial role in the success of the sail, none may be more appreciated than the canoe's chef. HPR's Kuʻuwehi Hiraishi has more.

More than 25 alumni working and studying in healthcare professions participated in the annual Alumni Healthcare Spotlight. They shared their wisdom and advice, as well as their education and employment journeys, with dozens of Academy students interested in pursuing health careers. Mahalo to the alumni volunteers who participated and the student committee that planned this wonderful event!

This past Friday, the PAANY Spam Musubi Social was held in New York City at the home of Allen Murabayashi ’90.

💙 90+ alumni and friends were present
💛 170 musubis were made
💙 25 lbs of rice cooked
💛 2 gallons of chili was eaten

They also had Punahou’s famous caramel cuts on the menu! Yum! 😋
